I don't have a live jacket but it's definitely something I wanna purchase asap. Every year some people get washed in the sea in my area, some are never seen again... A friend of mine happened to survive and rescue himself by swimming in the rough sea to a save area, he also had a couple of close calls... Storms and big swells are no joke, especially in the winter with low water temperatures

Saw my first groper in a wave a couple weeks ago next to a school of what looked to be something larger and darker than salmon. I cast a stickbait in and they all took off lol. Next time I'll try berley first.

Yeah it sounds crazy until you loose a few fish on pe8 and 140-170lb leaders. Even on the 200 I’ve had a fair few times not go my way. They really are brutal

Any crane 3 way is ok. These are harbour brand but normally use shogun

I'm curious, do you name your spots? I rock fish a lot over here on the west coast of SA and between myself and a couple of mates, we name our ledges for the convenience of discussing conditions and future trips. Just wondering if you guys do the same thing?

Yeah we name them but normally in code so I can talk openly about a spot without giving it’s location away. Broken point, roast point, washing machine and this spot is called groper slot for example.

That’s a good one for the black stuff and some spots certainly need it and I’ll have a pair in my backpack but here I would rather wear boots as the ledge I fished off is clean and no Black Death on it

Dangerous rocks and swells. You should fish these venues with a buddy - just in case!

Certainly should and it is dangerous. I do fish solo a bit but always make sure conditions are good and I pay extra attention

@@DixonsFishing you only need to be caught out once. Don’t put yourself at risk and leave behind loved ones in turmoil as a result! Take a buddy for the company, the banter and the safety of looking out for each other! Wear a life jacket too! Those venues look remote and sparsely populated so no_one would know if your in trouble! I too love my fishing but I know my friends love me a lot more!
