For, behold, in those days, and in that time, when I shall bring again the captivity of Judah and Jerusalem, 2 I will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat, and will plead with them there for my people and for my heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and parted my land. 3 And they have cast lots for my people; and have given a boy for an harlot, and sold a girl for wine, that they might drink. 4 Yea, and what have ye to do with me, O Tyre, and Zidon, and all the coasts of Palestine? will ye render me a recompence? and if ye recompense me, swiftly and speedily will I return your recompence upon your own head; 5 Because ye have taken my silver and my gold, and have carried into your temples my goodly pleasant things: 6 The children also of Judah and the children of Jerusalem have ye sold unto the Grecians, that ye might remove them far from their border.

There are angry black people in America that are now claiming they're the original people on the planet, and America is really the true old world, and that's where Egypt really was, and so on. They say they are the original people, and they predate Adam (I believe that part that they were created in the 6th day whereas Adam was created in the 8th day). These people are cropping up everywhere now, claiming they're the first this, and the first that, and are the real Indian tribes and so on. Now they're saying America belongs to them, and they're claiming to be the first everything 😂 everyday it's a new thing they're claiming. They're very obnoxious

"It's because it was made by God's power that it's on a cliff instead of being on the ground". This is truly amazing, perched 650 feet above a steep cliff plus it's dating back to the 5th century. That is so breathtaking! "Mezmur" is the religious songs of the Ethiopian Orthodox Church. I Believe, It's better to use the Instrumental classical's of Ethiopian orthodox mezmures with Kirar, Washint, Kebero and Mesenko as a sound truck. If churches were assessed by their risk factor, Abuna Yemata Guh would be our new Sistine Chapel. Perched 650 feet above a steep cliff in Northern Ethiopia, visitors face a 45-minute climb up the cliff’s vertical face in order to access the precariously positioned church. Dating back to the 5th century, history has it that its founder Father Yemata built the chapel to be closer to heavenly spirits; however, others claim it was a strategic move to avoid his enemies. Amazing Places on Our Planet well Done !!!

The closest I have been to the Tigrayans region of Ethiopia is Addis Ababa. But when I went to Addis this last time the flight outbound out of Addis to Jedda Airport, went over the Tigrayan region and then over Eritrea. Tigrayans region borders Eritrea. How do I know I was over the Toga region? Because almost all International flights have the tv that shows you where you are over on the world. I was able to look down , it wasn't very cloudy but I was impressed to see how many steep mountains there was ,for miles. It kind of look like the grand canyon. I was like wow this is Tigrayans region of both Ethiopia and Eritrea. I felt like wow one day I will go.

this is one of the very best documentaries i have ever seen, especially about these incredible rock churches in ethiopia! what a miracle to see people there, climbing around like mountain goats and even being able to guide others to these sacred sites! what i am not sure about yet, is the statement that these caves and chambers were made by christians only. from my experience with many megalithic sites across the planet (and there are thousands!) it rather looks like they have been existing from even earlier times! thank you @amazing places!

The best video on these monuments in KZbin so far! Great work, and a good eye. These places are not just churches. They are also monasteries. They are built in difficult to reach places. The whole point was to get away from it all. No need to puzzle. Resist the urge to make access to them easier.
@milosh9k10 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your appreciation! Yes, these stunning places of worship have been built intentionally in hard to reach places, and this makes them quite unique. And on the weekends the local people climb to these churches for the mass.
@bircruz55510 жыл бұрын
Re-reading my comment, I felt I may have left a wrong impression. My comment about not making access to these sites tourist-friendly came out of casual discussions with people who have a tendency to think in terms of money and see such places from the economic perspective. That, of course, defeats the purpose of these places. In any case my opinion was directed at those people. These places are treasures. They must be left pristine, and not be made easy to scale. But it says something about people who take on the challenge to get there, like you did. A mark of devotion, I must think. Beautiful work!
