there are half a dozen guns made sold under different names made by the same company.most names are just importers.

Just a correction- Rock Island Armory was the name of a company in Colona, IL. They named as a takeoff on the Rock Island Arsenal, which is nearby in the middle of the Mississippi (and has an excellent firearm collection and museum). The company and name were purchased by Armscor in the Philippines in the mid 80s. The concrete battleship you spoke of is called Fort Drum and was built in the early 1900s. It was part of a series of fortifications, including Corregidor and others, which were built to guard the entrance to Manilla Bay. Hope you are doing well, take care

Thanks for chatting about RIA. I have a RIA 1911 in .45 ACP and it runs great. I also have an Armscor 1911 that is also fun, but I think it needs a new recoil spring. I've heard that RIA uses some of the old tooling that was used during WW2 to make their 1911s, so they are one of the closest representations of the GI 1911. I'm also quite accurate with the RIA 1911 as well at 15 yards.

Good discussion. It reminds me that the absolute fastest way for a population to permanently lose gun rights is to permit a dictatorship to come to power. Dictatorships of all stripes invariably react violently to civilians arming themselves.

Daggone, appreciate that. I like my tcm combo double stack a lot, been carrying it every day over a year. Also carry ear plugs in case have time to put them in (I heard the Japanese were considering invading the US until they realized how many guns the citizens possess

@@markjones3985I just got a US 1911A1 GI model from Tisas and it’s fantastic! Cannot believe they sell these guns for the price! This basic A1 is easily worth 650-700$ but I got it for 380$ 🤯

@@Gator69420 I have that same model, in addition to 3 other TISAS 1911’s. I also use Wilson Combat mags in all of them, along with some Chip McCormick and Mec-Gar mags. They all work great. I have had nothing but EXCELLENT service from all my Tisas pistols. You won’t be disappointed.
