Mike's idea of using the tires inertia was pure genius. There's been more than once Mike has left me in awe. Sean too. And then a leader like Rory it's no wonder that group is so good at what they do.

Love the highlight of how a local club helped keep a trail open by provided a space for the tadpoles to be safe.
@Fix_It_Again_Tony7 ай бұрын
The story is all about accepting limitations and compromise. I am sure many offroaders drove through there for years because it was considered part of the trail and who was going to tell them where they could and couldn't drive. I am sure the environmentalists were saying the whole trail needed to close and no one could drive anywhere because of the toad. The club said both of those are wrong and we can walk and chew gum at the same time. They accepted closing a small portion of the trail to protect wildlife while simultaneously keeping the rest of the trail open. As the video shows there is still plenty to navigate on the 21 road trail. It's a perfect view into how to handle a problem like an adult in today's world were so many people see in black and white and refuse to give up anything even if it is relatively small.

You have to remember the turtle move. Turtled on a big rock: "Mike yells: spin the tires fast and step on the brakes sharply." Then Rory's vehicle moves forward and can finish the obstacle. Awesome trail. Thanks

Tyres are full or water moving mass makes movement

I've never seen someone use their tires as 'centrifugal force' like that.The sudden stop throws the weight forward.Great idea Mike!
@coreyhansen81197 ай бұрын
@@ashleywright1991 water would make it more effective but with tires that big a sudden stop at high rpm would be a lot of momentum on its own.
@ashleywright19917 ай бұрын
@coreyhansen8119 yes any rotating mass is which is why brake or accelerate when airborne in a vehcile to level it when it lands ... eg to stop a rally car nose diving

Mike for the win! You really dusted of your P.H.D. in physics for that de-turtle using wheel/tire inertia. Rory usually knows all the tricks, but I could tell that you taught him something on that one!

The time when THE BIG 3/THE 3 AMIGOS (whatever you fancy)ALL leveled up in achievements!!! All of you, thoroughly conquering the 21 Road Trail - each and every one of you, in your own unique way! Rory, Shawn, and Mike displaying the best rock/boulder crawling that I have ever seen - that you uploaded and shared with us, that is!!! Ha! The rest of the crew did awesome as well, with all the unique rigs. Sorry but I'm still completely blown away by what I just saw (I watched it twice) and I just have to give an extra special shout out to a Mr. Rory freaking Irish, his Buggy, and his extraordinary will and skill, all were on display, to the point where it ALMOST was too obnoxiously good, almost!!!
