My go to album, the one where I love every single song on the album, is "Beggars Banquet." If you haven't listened to that lately you should. The songs run the complete gamut, from country to hard rock to blues. Keith and Mick wrote more than 300 songs. I especially like that Keith so loved the blues that he came to the States and the first place he wanted to go was Muscle Shoals, Alabama. He also recorded the blues at the Chess Records studio in Chicago. Then Mississippi to the Delta to hear the oldtimers do the blues. They did a song called, "Prodigal Son." If you want one good example of Keith's ability on the acoustic listen to that. His encyclopedia of blues knowledge was so vast that he was able to pour out songs. I think some of their songs will live on as "standards," at least in the blues world, and be played by people for years to come.

They will live on not in the blues world lol but in the popular music world and go down as the greatest most successful, enduring rock n roll band of all times. But The Beatles , Bob Dylan and the Rolling Stone will mainly be remembered for changing youth culture and in doing so changing the world by changing how kids thought, dressed, acted, looked, parenting, sexual liberation, freedom from religion and everything else that happened in the sixties that was part of the cultural revolution.

@@MrThedonhead IDK. I've played a lot of blues clubs and I always played Stones blues. I'd usually start the night out with "Sweet Virginia" just to get everybody in the mood.

Jagger does not pack in the audiences. It is the Rolling Stones music that packs in the audiences. Jagger is the vocal vector but without the music/tune behind it, it wouldn't be the Rolling Stones. The proof of that is in his solo stuff which doesn't sell really well. Richards, Watts, and Daryl Jones are critically important. Brian was integral to the band early on and Mick Taylor lifted the band into the stratosphere of rock and roll. But it was the music--always the music that distinguished the band. At least it did up through Exile.

The first - and only - time I saw the Stones was around '64 when I was not much more than a child. They closed the first half of the show which included Micky Most and, as I recall, the Everly Brothers... or maybe Billy Fury... I forget which. Their hit single was 'I wanna Be Your Man' - a John Lennon throwaway. I remember thinking how ill nourished and skinny they looked moving around on stage like demented insects. Not much changed over the years as far as I can see. I guess they are an acquired taste.

They used some amphetamines, it was pharmaceutical Benzedrine, but everyone I knew used Benzedrine to keep going back then. I heard Keith liked coke, but who didn’t? I remember when they first got busted for amphetamines and everyone was saying they should have paid the police for the bad-boy publicity they got from it.

Bass man? Never gotten the accolades he deserves. Not been a full patched stone ever. despite the length of time he's been playing in the band. Ronnie woods had always been a full member. Him jagger? Keith and watts are the only actual ruling rolling stones. I think it's perhaps a money thing. They can pay him for each preformace but I'm pretty sure any contracts with him do not include per cents from live shows or albums. Egos and cash have been in his way of getting his just due all these years. The bass line in miss you is tremendous. Absolutely the beat of the whole song. They have this great Bass guitarist who deserves his due I truly feel

@@dawndireitz5531 Darryl Jones is the best musician -- by far --that the Stones have ever had. Darryl's Stone bandmates don't rank at his high level of musicianship. I have no idea how he feels about not being officially named a full-fledged Stone, but even if he were designated at such, being known as a "Stone" doesn't do Darryl 's musical talents justice. Being a band member with Miles Davis and other great jazz musicians means more, I suspect, to Darryl than playing with the likes of the Stones. The Stones gigs are probably just a way to kill time and get a good paycheck.

"Won't reach 30"....."I Know"......come on.....most people at that time thought 30 was old age like these days 60 is regarded the end. Strange days , but times were hugely different then. 3 years then , is like 9 years now. "Hope I'll die when I get old"........old age and getting bald was considered a nightmare then , since the pre WW2 generation seemed an alien outdated race. Due to technical advancement the industrialised world underwent an unprecedented change . The "space age" had arrived....

Sorry, seen them way back when and still think overrated. They had a few good songs but never cared for Jagger. Love Keith's playing and attitude, along with Ronnie, and when Keith hooks up with someone like Eric Clapton, they can do some jamming. But Jagger to me, doesn't have much of a voice when compared to so many other Brits from their time! I'd take David Gilmour, Clapton, McCartney, Lennon or just about anyone over Jagger.

These guys are today a travesty and parody. ¨They haven't released new, good music since the 80's. They were also, once upon a time, created as the bad boys of pop. Lennon would have them for breakfast.

From what I read,he was drowned in his pool by a character he had doing carpentry and repairs on his house.I found this in the book,"Up and Down With The Rolling Stones".The guilty one confessed on his death bed...apparently.
