Nightwish has a crew that is large - not unlike most bands. This band plus crew is 50+ people. When forced not to work due to the pandemic, Nightwish allowed them to release covers of songs under the band name Crewish. Nightwish asked fans to support them. This was unusual in the industry.

yes you're right she did have a hard go at it from their documentary she had 48 hours to learn their 15 song setlist for Seattle on Oct 1, 2012, and she said in Seattle she was scared to death, but a total professional and those great bandmates but then she had 40 shows with them on tour before they got to Wacken in Aug. of 2013 completely comfortable and excepted. Want to find out how excepted LOL Play Wacken's "I want my tears back" and you'll see Emppu at the start go over to Troy and plotting on Floor then when he goes behind her on his way to the other side of the stage he unplugs her earpiece, you can see her look at him and reach behind her then when he comes back they both make goofy faces at each other, it's funny and shows the affection I think.

Too true. I was about a dozen metalheads back from the barricade right in front of Jukka...to see all their frequent, meaningful interactions was heartwarming and priceless! Taking into account their recent history, and understanding that this was WOA - arguably the top metal festival on earth in terms of coverage and lasting impact - this was, I think, a significant pressure test for the band moving forward. I know I saw, very early in the show, a couple of times when Emppu and Marko looked at each other and joyfully agreed that "yes, Floor is the missing piece and this is finally Nighwish at full throttle!". I couldn't have agreed more! This show was one of those, as Ana has frequently observed, Perfect Storm Moments. The show, and all their following work, speak very nicely to that fit and synergy. Along with Ana and so many others, I can barely wait for the show in NYC! Truly hope to see you all there 🤘👹🤘

There was an online concert without Marco and it was still great. Floor has sung Marco's parts and that also in different pitches. She was so to speak in a duet with herself. Troy has sung along to other songs, that didn't work so well for me because he has a too soft voice. And many songs where Marco was part of it will also be deleted from the setlist. You don't need to hope that Marco will come back so soon. He will be out for a year and a complete tour. After that, it is still more than questionable whether he will come back. If he doesn't come back, Jukka will be able to show his qualities as a singer, but not before. So that no one gets the impression Marco could simply be replaced. A matter of respect. This also makes it easier for Jukka to be accepted by the fans. He really played excellent bass that afternoon. Sometimes he even managed to imitate Marco's voice with it. But he still seemed like a foreign body to me in the band. But he was well involved by Emmpu. He's just the glue that holds the band together, as Floor once said. 13:21 😳 My condolences. 😁

Yes!! Rammstein 🔥🔥🔥
@rome81803 жыл бұрын
Yeah, "Everdream" is the Nightwish song in the most consistently high register. If you sing it in headvoice like Tarja, it's not so bad. But if you're trying to belt it like Floor, it's brutal (especially the last chorus after the key change). There are multiple instances of F, F#, and G#5.
@juyifan79333 жыл бұрын
The song is difficult for Floor mostly because she does it belted. It would be easier if she did it in head voice like Tarja did originally. Floor doesnt like to do whole songs in head voice, it's not her strength, she only likes to use it as a resource in specific parts of some songs, like at the end of Song of Myself here.

Propane has a very limited fuel-to-air ratio and it will dissipate very fast beyond the flammability range, meaning that it doesn't set fire to places easily because if you aren't constantly feeding it right amount of air, it will dissipate. That's one reason it's used. Another one is because it's non-toxic, unlike most other fuels and alcohols. Propane tanks are also very very difficult to explode. Thanks for the reaction :)

First off, loved the lipstick and reaction. I feel like Floor with Nightwish is the perfect storm/union as well. We all miss Marko too, but in the virtual shows, Floor and Troy split up his vocal parts and they kicked ass. Jukka the new bassist did not miss a lick on bass. I was a bit nervous for Nightwish before I saw the virtual shows with no Marko, not anymore. Floor is the whole package, she was the composer and primary lyrics writer for her last 2 bands, now with that genius Tuomas, all she has to focus on is vocals.

That stage at Wacken is huge. From a camera perspective they may look quite close to the flames, but actually there is quite is is quite a distance from the bandmembers (but they will feel the heat and break a sweat) They mark the danger-zone on the stage with red tape (or something) The pyro-technicians have one job and one job only, so they will make sure no-one is in the danger zone before they press the button. The pyro-technicians are actually behind the stage instead of at the sound booth so they have a good view.

Another great reaction. It's hard to headbang with headphones on, isn't it? BTW, your pronunciation of "propane" was perfect. I'm pretty sure they'll mark out the no-go areas for the pyrotechnics with tape or something more substantial. From the audience, it's hard to see how much space there is on the stage front-to-back, as it were. So it's likely that they were leaving plenty of room around the fire jets.

Listening to another Reactor, I learned that the meter alternates between 7/4 and 4/4, and sometimes Jukka 'plays through' the 7/4 portion and (intentionally) gets out of sync with the bass/guitar... I think this is part of what gives you that feeling that she is singing off-the-beat. I am not a drummer, and I have difficulty figuring out how these different time signatures mix, but I think I hear what he was talking about (reactor = 'suite clarity') You are such a fun reactor. I would love to hear you do this song. ... I see you riding off to breach the castle walls, and save your princess. Keep up the great work !!
@athlonen3 жыл бұрын
I was just about to mention this. During the verses, the timing is in 7/4, where there are 7 beats in the measure, and the quarter note gets the beat. The common time measurement is 4/4, where there are 4 beats in a measure, where the quarter note gets the beat. The way to count this to listen to the kick drum and snare at the beginning of the verse. Each one of those gets a count. When you get to 7, start over again at 1. The last stanza before the bridge goes back to 4/4. You'll pick up the timing easily after that.

Ohh I simply love your energy when you are listening to Nightwish - and even more important - you really finds all the details and techniques Floor uses. It's so great and exactly what Floor likes young singers like you - to do. And you are on her YT Channel 👍. You don't have Floor's range (yet?) - but you definitely have the power and energy - and doing your own versions of the songs are super great. I can't help comparing you to the young Floor from After Forever - and you have very clear similarities regarding power and energy, and your colors in your voice makes you an up-coming star. As I did mention to b4 - Everdream was originally composed for Tarja Turunen's vocal ability and Floor mentioned it as the hardest song to her to sing.... So curiousity made you try still, be lucky that you don't end up like that famous cat 😁 Pyros - there are several types (up down, down up, sparkles, smokes etc.) If u use pyros NEVER EVER let unlicenced techs to set them up. And as all touring members of band, practice and xperience is not bad. It's hard beacsue she chooses to belt, she would have an easier time if she didn't and sang more like Tarja who sang in an operatic style. It's not so much ability as approach (although maybe Tarja operatic singing is better than Floors, she was a professional opera singer after all and it'd beyond my music training to tell). Floor could have an easier time but chooses what she thinks will work best for her interpretation of the song.

The Islanders Arms was a preview of what's to come, a sort of warm-up gig. You can check the 2nd day's setlist at www.setlist.fm/setlist/nightwish/2021/valova-vantaa-finland-4b8e376e.html and you'll probably want to do a reaction to all of these before seeing the band live, including the 1st day stuff (a link is at the bottom of the page for the 28th). Since that involves a lot of both Endless Forms Most Beautiful and Human Nature, it might make sense to make a schedule for you to finish up both of those albums before going to see them live. During the live concert they circumvented Marco's missing voice by assigning his parts to Troy and Floor. There naturally were parts where I missed hearing Marco, for example Ever Dream just becomes a little bit different, but overall I was quite fine with how they managed to pull it all off since I was half expecting the band to retire completely back in January with maybe doing the online gig as a farewell. You lose some and you gain some - I'm sure the band will settle into a new groove over the upcoming world tour. About Song of Myself, it's right up there with my absolute most favorite Nightwish songs from their whole catalogue. I think the lyrics themselves are the best part of the song, there are some really poetic lines in this. Plus the hard metal at the end you also noted makes this just that much better. Looking at all the NW stuff you've reacted to, if I'm not mistaken then from this Wacken 2013 gig you're missing Dark Chest of Wonders, She is my Sin, Nemo, Last of the Wilds, Bless the Child, and Last Ride of the Day. Dark Chest is the show opener, always a crowd pleaser. I still listen to both the Tarja and Floor versions of this, it's just a great song overall. Sin is an oldie, and even as Floor sings it very well I still hear Tarja in my head when I think about it. The Wishmaster album is interesting as a whole in that Tuomas flexed his melodic muscles quite a bit in it. Nemo is one of the biggest radio hits Nightwish ever released. I've heard it too much to be objective about it anymore, but the crowd always loves hearing it. LotW is an instrumental song themed around nature, it also has a different version with Finnish vocals sung by a guest vocalist back during the time between Tarja leaving in 2005 and Anette joining in 2007. If you love some Troy bagpipe action then this is for you. Bless is near and dear to my heart, one of the most iconic Tarja songs for me. There's nothing wrong with how Floor clears it, she's frankly phenomenal in it, but this will always remain a Tarja song for me and I'm completely fine with this. It's a vocally demanding song, well worth listening to. Floor skirts it right at the edge like in the ending of Ever Dream, just short of having to resort to shouting. Ride is their traditional (and bittersweet) show finisher, though after the release of EFMB they started playing Ride and then The Greatest Show on Earth as the actual finisher. If you can look past the disappointment of the gig being about to end, Ride itself is an energetic song with some lyrical depth hidden inside it. For your channel, I'd recommend Dark Chest of Wonders and Bless the Child at the very least from these remaining Wacken 2013 songs, but there's nothing wrong with the rest either. About performing songs, Anastasia - you may surprise: Holopainen also confirmed that NIGHTWISH's future setlists will likely also be affected by Hietala's absence from the group. "There are some songs that are so profilic [sic] to Marco that we cannot do them, I think, ever again," he said. "I'm not absolutely certain, but, for example, 'The Islander', 'While Your Lips Are Still Red' and definitely 'Endlessness' from the new album is something that cannot be performed without Marco. But then, after spending five days in the rehearsal room, there are some songs that actually work surprisingly well without Marco, that Floor [Jansen] or Troy [Donockley] is doing [Marco's] parts. And I was a bit suspicious about that, but then when I heard the new arrangement for those parts, I was, like, 'Yeah, I think this actually might work.'"

I want to travel where life travels, following its permanent lead, where the air tastes like snow music, where grass smell like fresh-born Eden. I would pass no man, no stranger, no tragedy or rapture. I would bathe in a world of sensation. Love, goodnes and simplicity.

You are suffering from a condition called Nightwish-itis. Watch out, it's contagious. The symptoms are learning fancy words, singing interesting verses, thinking about catching symphonics and being euflooric 😁 This song is a Banger !!! Little bit Pantera vibe for me , and this is awesome!!!! NWSU

I have an interesting double reaction if you're interested Nightwish - Sleeping Sun(live @Tampere) and Steve'n'Seagulls - Sleeping Sun feat. Tarja Turunen

Why not Tarja when she's with Nightwish?i dont think floor's version is as good as Tarja's,dont get me wrong,im not hating on Floor but some of those old is more Tailor made for Tarja,its why i like Floor,she surprize me when she can take some of those into next level,but not all of em,not even close.

@@Kromvato Personally I love both versions, Tarja one is the original and really amazing, but also Floor version is fantastic in her own way...and the Steve'n'Seagulls cover is a truly gem...so why not a triple reaction? :P btw I find Tarja in this last cover so solar and beautiful, getting better and better while aging. @@Fabi72g I Agree if its Triple Reaction,i just hate to see some cover which featured Tarja,no matter what,Tarja is one of the founder of Nightwish,She's the reason why Nightwish is A Symphonic Metal Band,i forgot but Tuomas was actually trying to some country whatever band,till he hear Tarja,if you hate her coz what happened with her and the band(Older fans would understand what i mean),let it go,even Tuomas already moved past it and if you recent NW fans and only knew Floor,Tarja recommend Floor to Tuomas(if im not mistaken).So sorry if there a mistaken fact but im not into Nightwish like im used to after Tarja's departure,just love seeing people's react to what i considered The Greatest Band on Earth 🤣

@@Kromvato My way to manage all what happened in the past is really simple, for me NW are the sum of what happened in the past, all the singers and the musicians gave something of them to the band, and they are all part of the band and the story forever. They made amazing music for 25 years, also Tarja made really beautiful songs on her solo career...so just enjoy the music. And in my mind is not for sure a competition, I am a big Floor fan, but discovered NW back in 2000 with Tarja and liked also the Anette albums. btw if a cover feat Tarja, for me it's not a cover, it's a new version. About Tarja suggesting Floor I doubt but I'm not sure, I heard Floor asked her if it's ok. What is sure is that Floor toured with NW before and became Tarja friend, but also Tuomas and the other guys knew her well.

@@Fabi72g my thoughts exactly,thats why i find so disrespectful to compare Floor's "Sleeping Sun" to some fuckin cover that feature Tarja,really??The fuckin song is made for Tarja,she's one of the founder of the Band and Floor's sleeping Sun not even fuckin good at least in my opinion(Listened to Nightwish since 2002,she's my sin my 1st NW song),if you truly NW fans,learn to appreciate their history as well,compare Floor's version to the Original Version and if you have an open mind you'll see How Good Tarja and Anette is.The best quality of Floor Jansen is actually managed to Take some of those Song that Tuomas tailor made for Tarja/Anette into a next level(ie :Ghost Love Score,Song of Myself,Romanticide,etc) but it doesn't mean she does everything better,she have a tons of crappier version than the original(ie:She's my Sin,Nemo,Amaranth,Sleeping Sun,Everdream,etc).Sorry for the long rant,just tired listening and reading all these new fans crap that Floor can take any song and made it hers,at least not NW song,Tuomas is a Mozart level composer,not some crappy pop songwriter who wrote music without any soul in it,respect that fact as well. PS:Sleeping Sun without Nightwish is still a cover/tribute,whether they have Tarja or not,whether how good or bad it us.Funny fact I didnt even follow Tarja solo career,im a metalhead in the 1st place,her newer song didnt even spark anything inside me,but when she with Nightwish,she's a Goddess.

Amazing reaction! Please do a cover of this song, it is one of my favourite nightwish songs. When you have the time give a listen to the album version of the song (although it's performed by Annette), but there's a whole other section that's just poetry, no music on the album version.

For heavy and dark raspy female voice try Null Positiv, start with Wo rauch ist,ist auch feuer, I'm sure you will LOVE them. One of the outstanding German bands.
