Love this chord style soloing of Eddie, have always been a big fan of EC. 🙏 RIP.

Sitting on the Balcony is in Drop D Standard tuning. When you play it in that tuning all of the guitar parts become simple, match Eddie's usual playing habits and suddenly make complete sense under your fingers. Research it online. There's many other guitarists saying the same thing with there reasons all mapped out. Sitting On The Balcony is my all-time favorite Cochran song and one of my all-time favorite songs in general. Spent alot of time making sure I'm playing it correctly. That guitar solo is so catchy I never get tired of it. Along with Eddie's solo in Milk Cow blues.

AFAIK the solo in Sittin' in the Balcony was actually played by Howard Roberts, a well-known jazz guitar and studio professional. If that's correct, it's not even related to any of Eddie Cochran's habits :)

@@kpnash There is no evidence of your claim. Eddie was one of the most prolific session guitarist of the period, both credited and uncredited and would’ve been more than capable of playing the parts required. So why on earth would he pull in another guitar player to work on the track?
@kpnash3 жыл бұрын
@@SRT54we will never get out of this debate unless there's a video showing Eddie performing this song live with the band! Some sources say this, some sources say that, in Google you can find both, the question what do you trust and why? For me personally, I don't know, and that's why I've said, '***IF*** that's correct' - so it's not even a claim per se. Regarding what you say, it sounds logical, but then again, think of, Grady Martin was also one of the most prolific session guitarists so why on earth didn't he play lead on Janis Martin's recordings (I mean songs like Let's Elope etc.)?

Hi Luis, I didn't even know the song til now. Thanks for introducing it to me. I don't think I would make a KZbin lesson out of it, but if you're interested we could work something out if you write me on mail@randyrich.de

Nice as always. I acquired a Guild through your influence. The Guild should sponsor you, if they don't already. Although mine isn't from the 50s, but I'm loving it, a lovely guitar. Have a nice day Randy and friends here.

Yes, I guess I should have reached out to them. I know quite a few people who bought Guild guitars because of my videos

Randy Richter I know, I'm interested in both guitars but I don't know which one should I get. Any help?
@ducktailcat8 жыл бұрын
Okay got you. Unfortunately I can't help you here. I don't know these guitars. My Guild is from 1958 I also have a new Telecaster, that's all I need. So I rarely try other guitars out.
@jgmedina8 жыл бұрын
Randy Richter the bridge of your x-175b is pinned?
@ducktailcat8 жыл бұрын
No, it's not. It just stays in place from the tension of the strings.
