they way these two bikes generate torque is the problem - XR650R is a tracktor of a dirtbike it has torque in almost all of it's rpm range specialy in low rpms and has torque on demand - with the cr you have to find the powerband and yes- in the powerband you have more power than a xr650r @@prospectorsoils1240

@@prospectorsoils1240the xr650r is actually a tameable beast. It's a proper Enduro bike. The 500 is either nothing, or tear itself out from under you. Most people think four strokes make more torque than 2 strokes, but they don’t. Cr500 makes about the same hp as a 450 but has about %20 more torque.

I been racing the 500cc bikes for many years! First of all I'm 6,4' 225lbs so I benefits from the torque and you handle the snappy power whit the clutch!!! Keep it in 3th and one pull as you exit the corner boom and it revs up fast ! The 4stroke guys dont do that form of style. We how did race the big class in early 80s to 2000. We road different to be fast. My friend Marcus Hansson are the last Swed🇸🇪 to win the title in 1994. I rode Honda 480R 500R and ofcourse the CR500. I was whit Kawasaki rode the KX500 and the SR500 as well. The KX dont bogg after landings because it has an exhaust port that can be adjusted to a chosen powerband to fit style and track. The CR500 does not have that port that means your porting of the cylinder must be spot on! In old days when slippery mud races we add a bottom cylinder gasket to reduce compression and change porting timing mostly! That's how we did it old school days. Nice video would love try that bike I believe in that very much! A fuel injection system on that motor and we get even further! Best regards from Sweden 🇸🇪

I think they should open the displacement categories up again. 250 vs 250 and 450 vs 450. Apparently two strokes are way cheaper to run and that would give the privateers and small teams a great possibility to save some money. I think that's highly desirable.
