Makes sense. Director asked about goals. Have alike thinking. Said don't believe in goals. Instead look at setting target, expectations, etc. Loved this. Thanks

This is the best concept a coach could teach a student. It took me decades to come to this same conclusion during my industrial sales career. Im retired now and self teaching myself singing from what i find on the internet for free and using this thinking has not only been joyful but i cant believe what ive accomplished in the last 7 months. I can easily sing my favorite songs now i have a 4 octave range G1-G5 but it came by dedication and most importantly software For recording yourself and gives you visual feedback. so im also living proof what you say is absolutely true. There is usually no instant gratification in learning to sing, you have to enjoy the journey as much as the destination. Thank you for your excellent work here on youtube.

Hey there, I want to thank you so much for this set of insights. I knowit’s really directed towards Singing and various goals within the music industry and so on. But for me, I have a really been in a pattern of fail or succeed even when I’m closer to My personal goals in business and in self improvement. Your examples of the target versus a specific black or white goal was really insightful. Of course, we need milestones and clicks along the way that we can identify, so we know that we’re making progress. But I think a target analogy is far better than a win lose, fail succeed, good or bad scenario. Your example of the person who lost 35 pounds out of the 50 pound goal is so right on. I have to say, after only discovering your videos and you personally for only a couple weeks… You really are the best teacher for me personally that I’ve ever run into. Scales, diaphragm, soft pallet and so on are all important subjects but really, what I’ve been missing and lost was the mental state behind all of those feelings. My singing before I lost my dream and my voice went wacko was very flexible, very clear, and very emotionally connected to what I was saying or conveying. I was moved within my heart and that’s why I sang. You bring that back to my understanding again. I lost my dream and my vision and so on for a long, long, long time. I can’t go back, that’s a fact. But, what I can do is go forward and you shine light on subjects that I had lost. So thank you so much for that. I will be listening to your videos. I will sign up for your classes the free ones online ($25). And hopefully, we can speak in the future because my hope has been enlightened again. And now that I’m aware I’m not going back... only forward. Thanks so much
