Yup a rank is a complete difference in mechanics. I am always getting into D1 and fall back to Plat 3 because it's a big difference. I don't have Mechanics like a diamond player. I just got there because I have good positioning, good rotations and try to play smart. I have a lot to put work in. Especially mechanics. I can just a bit dribble, sometimes good flicks, my air shots are not consistent. That's a lot of practice and it can't be done easily

Honestly how the champs act is everything i expected. Theyre always very arrogant and assume its never their fault. I used to be the exact same lately ive just realized im just not good enough to reach grand champ yet and im ok with it. The last match was a perfect showcase of this. No matter how much they got scored on no matter how many mistakes they made its always "they got lucky" or "we couldve won" that is the biggest reason so many people are hardstuck on champ. Learn to admit your mistakes. They were dogging on jon sandman for no reason. The man might not be mechanically the best but he's really good at understading his position and his rotations. My rank tends to bounce between high D2 and low C1, depending on who I'm playing with. I've made C2 once but I was definitely carried. This video just reaffirms my belief that D2 is just as good if not better than Champ. Seems like people just get hard stuck there for some reason.

champ players who can hold champ are better. diamond is one of the largest distributions of players in the game, so diamond is a big hurdle for many reasons- some games you're against mechanical sickos and it feels awful, some games you dunk on idiots who just dive at balls they have no chance of touching and having better fundamentals is all you need. basically diamond players just haven't rounded out their gameplay. champ is maybe not an insane jump because the consistency issues are still there, but they are on average better at all the things they need to be better at. I think in a best of five those champ players would win against hte diamonds, assuming they are truly champ players.

actually many matches are paired up with randoms like for instance one match i get someone half decent who misses the ball occasionally then next match guaranteed i will get a totally useless idiot who does not kick off or is afk or misses every ball and that is in platinum mainly but i just got to diamond in 2v2, first match was a great example of playing defensive and not rushing in will get you the win on lower ranks easily but in grand champs it all about speed and getting to the ball first.

@@gatecrasher1970 so the thing about this is, in this game everyone has the same challenges with teammates while solo queueing, you have to be adapting to your teammates, adapting through out the match to better work with all the quirks that they have, quickly figuring that out is a real skill, and it's one of the things that will get you to higher ranks. I promise you you're teammates will never seem to get better until you're a pro. it's all your skill to play around them, and if they're complete garbage then full stop play defensive and give them opportunity's they can only miss so many times. if you are more consistent than the opponents, you'll rank up. (c3-2s-1s)

I’ve solo que’d my way to GC... it’s not your teammates holding you back. I get it’s easy to blame teammates, I’ve been there. For 2 years I was stuck in champ 2 blaming teammates but eventually I grew out of that thinking and bettered my self. Now I consistently play in champion 3 and even able to hit low GC. Takes a lot of effort to break that mentality. I totally agree with Astrofey your teammates don’t get better the higher up you go(they do but just hear me out) Just the more frustrating it is when you set exasperation’s for a specific rank and how they should play in your head. Not everyone is a cookie cutter mold of a expectation of a rank.

Even so I'd say that it's very good possible to have better decisionmaking than someone in a higher rank than yourself since ca. until GC better mechanics will mostly prevail and a player with good mechanics will usually be more helpful in lower ranks than one with good decisionmaking

For me, plat to diamond was the biggest jump in difficulty. Platinum's are just more consistent golds but diamond is when you start seeing real skill. Seems like the next massive jump is champion to grand champion. Back when I was playing, I was a diamond 2 but I couldn't really tell too much of a difference between a diamond 2 and a champion 2 when I played casual mode. However I was mired in platinum hell for like a year. It just seemed impossible to get to and stay in diamond during that time. Edit: Diamond 2 was exactly where I belonged. I was by far not the best diamond (Just average, hence 2). If I ain't better than other diamonds, than I ain't good enough to be a champion.

The sad part is, it’s so much more than that. If people watch their replays you will find so many mistakes that you make and didnt realize while in game. Positioning mistakes, bad challenges, slow rotations, wiffs, double commits..the list is endless. That guy is just not realizing how many errors he’s actually making in comparison to higher ranked players. Those C2’s had a really bad mindset. I was hardstuck D3 for about 7 months, even though I knew i was far better than D3 i always told myself that there was a reason i’m stuck in D3. Around a month ago I finally got C1, after about a month after getting C1 my teammate and I went on a tear, and now we are both mid C2’s and are grinding everyday so one day soon we can hit GC. All it takes is training and working on your inconsistencies daily.

@@PtylerBeats Well to be fair. I was 1800 elo and now im basically hard stuck c2 lol. Its so different with the playstyles that you face in the ranks. I'm a pretty fast player and im used to fast rotations, but people can confuse me really hard in c2-c3. Adapting is sometimes quite hard. I find GC and up easier than c1-c3 due to the consistency in the plays. Makes it much more predictable, both oponents and teammates. You cant have the same style in each rank, you have to adapt so much is what ive noticed.

So I understand your pain, but I also have to realize that the reason I do better in those ranks is because they can cover for my mistakes at those ranks. At lower ranks, my mistakes are amplified because of bad rotations. So in the grand scheme of things, if I just make less mistakes, my teammates wouldn’t have to cover for me and it would be like I was playing in champ. But of course it’s easier said than done

It's difficult playing 2v1 every game. What's strange is when I get on discord and play with people who are actually good, I go on win streaks where our scores are fairly close. MM is trash and a bunch of people around plat 3 and diamond are being rank boosted, then play on their own and fuck up competitive for other people.
