Great job Chris, one extra thing that I would do at 2:53 is there are 2 landmarks, The one you aimed into or a point on the short rail where the butt of the cue will be over. I choose to use the longer distance of those to the cue ball. Aiming off by .1 diamond when very close to it would be a large angle change.

Yes - I find that especially problematic as the angle gets narrow. It is hard to identify the exact spot, even with the diamond markers. I find if I lift the cue for some reason it helps. But as a habit I always make a mental mark on the diamonds rather than the rail nose.

Watch the first instruction video called "Principle 1" likely 2.5 diamonds but you might have to custom measure.
