Kevin in my opinion yes. I have never used a death-adder for a long time but I love the shape of the mamba and it is a beautiful mouse. It is expensive but for me it is worth. It just depends on if you are down for the change.

I have the 2013 one too. And am seriously looking at this one when I'm ready to buy a new mouse. But arguably the best gaming mouse experience I've had was the original Steelseries Sensei. That thing handled everything like a boss and had a really comfortable grip. Right now I'm looking at a couple of options, including the Rival 600 and the new Logitech one, G305 I believe What do you think?

@@lukalehtola Well, if you've ever used a Roccat mouse -> yes. Compared to Roccat it will feel loose. I switched from a G703 because of the incredibly loose mouse wheel (I sent it in three times, same wheel every time, was so confused that RJN didn't mention that in his review, tried it out in different shops in different countries as well by now and it's just bad) and in comparison to that it's definitely not loose. I feel like that's very much a matter of taste, though. It's stiff enough not to activate it while clicking it (using the middle finger).

I have the tournament edition, and everything except the sensor is soooo perfect I love it, but I have a larger hand. I'm happy Razer finally made one with a good sensor. My next mouse will be the Elite for sure.

there is a really obvious 'jiggle' of the cursor for every liftoff that is really annoying in fps games, and I didn't see such bad movement with an optical sensor. The other big problem is you have to clean the sensor fairly often because if there is a hair or dust particle in there, it does a really big flick at every liftoff. That, in particular, is the worst, in a fight if you have to rotate there, with a movement that requires a liftoff it will move your cursor away so much you get disoriented. Otherwise, as I said it really is an excellent mouse, it's the sexiest one I've seen so far, and it matches my hand perfectly, I could never recommend it to anyone because of the sensor, but this elite is the best of both worlds.

I would insta-buy a proper Diamondback for sure, after 15 years it still has the best shape, grip and everything for me (lefty player), but well after failing at making a decent comeback with the 2015 DB I'm not sure they'd be willing to make a new one, even though I think they should, sometimes going back to the basics, where everything started, can be a good thing. Too bad that being left handed I cannot test all these cool looking mice like the Mamba, and this is why a good new Diamondback would make my day for sure.

I loved my Diamondback 3G. The closest alternative to the Diamondback is the G203/GPro but even with those two mice, the Diamondback is more comfortable since it's not as thin while still keeping a low + light profile.

Yeah we have some really light mouse like those, but the issue for me is that they're not truly ambidextrous, since they lack buttons on one side. The amazing thing about the Diamondback, among many, was the fact that it had all the buttons anyone, left or right handed, would need back in the day, and all of them were functional and not in the way at all, quite low profile. The weight was around 80 something grams I believe too, so it was all around an amazing mouse for me.

That's quite stupid, honestly, your brain has a way to understand things and changing it won't yield optimal results. Being able to do something doesn't mean you will do it as good as you're used to with your other, dominant, hand. Pretty much like some FPS players do use inverted Y-axis while others see that as an impossible feat. Also, the time used to learn and, most importantly, mastering mouse aiming with my right hand can be used to keep improving what I already do well, which is using my left hand because, you know, time is kind of precious and I already spent almost 20 years improving my skill with the left hand.

I have a 2015 Diamondback and it's shit. The cable started to wear out after 2 months and the sensor started freezing up after only a few weeks! I don't even want to buy another razer product because I know that there's always going to be something wrong. Hell, even their customer support is terrible...

If you could, could you please review the new HP Omen release, the Reactor. I know it weighs ~165g, but from what I've read that is mostly due to the armoured cable it comes with. Perhaps a cable mod is possible? Whatever the case, I would love to hear your opinions on its shape and the responsiveness of its' optical mechanical switches.

I still have my original Diamondback :) Good ol' days. Haha, the buttons are so worn down now though, it's hardly able to be used. I love the DB shape, but the Deathadder just works so much better for my hand size and grip style. I also nearly purchased the Mamba over the DA a few months back, but the sensor held me back. Great shape, and LOVE the side RGB...

Rocket Jump Ninja, I'm sorry Brah, usually I love your mouse reviews, but you really didn't do the Mamba Elite the justice that it deserves with this one. The Mamba was the mouse that Razer originally wanted to be it's pinnacle mouse, best of the best, creme of the crop, etc., but they did a few too many things wrong in trying to make it unique, like giving it laser sensor, which ended up being a terrible performer. From the first edition, they made the mistake of using the same shell as the DeathAdder. What people need to know about the Mamba Elite here, is that Razer finally used a new design for the shell. You keep saying that it's the same or similar to the DeathAdder, and maybe it was that way for you, but I've rocked a DA for years, and it was my favorite mouse. I was gonna get a Mamba V1, back in the day, cuz I wanted a wireless DA basically, and it was all pretty and stuff, but the batter life sucked and the laser sucked, so I kept the DA. Now that I've upgraded to this Mamba Elite, I've gone back and forth placing my hand on each mouse, with my eyes closed, just to get an idea of how they feel and how different they are and my conclusion...The Death Adder is now GARBAGE! Literally, the ergonomics of the new Mamba Elite are so much more comfortable than the DA, and it places your fingers in a more natural position, slightly more like you're holding a pen so you can feel your index, middle finger and thumber coming together. Obviously not nearly as much as a Naga, but a very slight lean toward it, which is so much better for improving precision. The DA almost makes your fingers point straight ahead and away from each other, which is horrible in comparison, but you wouldn't notice it until you can feel both at the same time (go to Best Buy and try it). After this Mamba Elite, I literally said, I'm never touching another DA for the rest of my life, it really does make the DA feel that much worse. Continuing on with ergonomics...I wanted better placement of the grips on the DA, and the Mamba provides. The placement of the grips on the Mamba is perfect. Your fingers are almost at all times on the grips, which is perfect when you need to life off, and execute snaps and such. The thumb buttons are perfectly placed, perhaps even slightly better than the DA. Now...Rocket Jump Ninja complained about the mouse wheel making noise or vibrating. Yeah, you're going to get that a little bit more with the Mamba than the DA now, but it's not a flaw. I've been asking Razer for years to offer just a couple more buttons on the DA and Mambas, in the form of a mouse wheel rocker, which the Mamba now offers. You get 2 additional programmable buttons by pushing the mouse wheel either to the left or to the right. This was a very welcomed change and I wish that Razer adapted this to more of their lineup. I'd easily sacrifice a little rattle for 2 extra buttons via a mouse wheel rocker, sorry RJN, but you missed that part. Also, I'm a finger tip grip user, and the fact that the Mamba is a shorter mouse than the DA is day and night noticeable. With the extra room, I'm able to maneuver the mouse underneath the rest of my hand that much better than a DA. In fact, there really is no reason for the DA to even exist now that the Mamba Elite is here and on top of it all the Mamba Elite is lighter than the DA @ 96g, making it so much better for FPS and snapping. Now, the sensor....not only did they go Optical, but they literally went with THE BEST Optical sensor possible. At the time it was made, ONLY the Mamba had it, it was custom made just for Razer. No other company had it or was allowed to have it, and I'm sure that continues on through today. The only difference is that Razer, realizing they have the best Optical sensor from that Company, chose to start using it in some of their other top end mice like the newer Viper lineup. And yeah, they use the best Omron (50M) switches for the buttons. So, yeah, it took some trial and error, but Razer finally listened to their fanbase, and released the Mamba Elite and I have to say, for the slightly larger mice, the Mamba is Razer's best right handed mouse. It surpasses the DA in every area, I honestly don't even know why anyone would bother with a DA at this point, just do yourself a favor and grab a Mamba Elite. And lets not forget, you also get way better RGB than the DA if you like that stuff. I'm not a huge fan of how everything is going RGB, but I admit, with the right RGB profile, it matches my system perfectly. The Razer Mamba Elite: Better than the DA in every way, that is what the review should have been called. Cheers.

Mamba's side button buzz is caused by the strong spring on it and it seems it has very less stopper. But it won't buzz if your thumb is sticked to it from pressing and releasing it.

I have always stayed with the Deat Adder elite up until now(2022) but as always the left click started double clicking but I realized its not possible to buy the ELITE version anymore so I was looking for an alternative. Thank god I found mamba, after watching this review I'm sure it will be a good purchase:) The reason why I'm not buying the deathadder V2 is bcs the button placement is horrible (i dont think anyone uses the "sensitivity buttons" for actually changing the sensitivity:)))

I'm having an issue where hotkeys are delayed or not responding at all. Using an on board memory profile seems to fix this but then the tracking feels off. Has anyone else experienced this or found a solution?

So my hand is 20.5x11cm, I'm using palm grip, what mouse would be big enough for me ?, I can use most of the mouse, my onl problem is the width, that small finger always seems to be "glued" together with ring finger on the side and I'm missing...lets say rest place or wide enough mouse which will eliminate the problem. I prefer the DeathAdder shape myself and I'm a little disappointed they didn't port the Hyperflux version of the Mamba, it's far prettier and uses the current design of the Lancehead and Basilisk. To go "backwards" to this Mamba shell is a bit weird to be honest, not sure why they've done that. I haven't tried this Elite version of the Mamba, but having tried the last version featuring the laser sensor I definitely lean more toward the DeathAdder in comfort personally.

Hello. I have been using the Razer Mamba Tournament edition for almost 2 years now and I have to say I am not that impressed. I have problems like 1) lag 2) sensor moving the cursor when I lift the mouse ( even if I set lift distance at 1 in synapse) 3) cursor freezing after lifting the mouse sometimes ( random moments - sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't) 4) when I move the mouse vertically at low speeds it is lagging and the cursor even has a different trajectory rather then going straight up or down as intended. The mouse in your video look like it is working almost perfectly besides the scrolling button. I would really appreciate if you could reply here and let me know what opinion you have.

Great mouse and you can turn the lights off if you need to. I used the deathadder for years until it started hurting my hands, I chalked it up to having to grip it tight to stabilize it. This isn’t a problem with the mamba elite and didn’t take me long to get used to. I am looking at moving towards ambidextrous mice after using the g305 and zowie fk1+. The g305 was too small and fk1+ gives me long term fingertip pain for days. Any recommendations? 20.32 centimeters 11.81 centimeters

I use my fingers to lift the mouse. I had the diamond back, the most beautiful mouse and best shape out of all, but it was heavy to lift and the side buttons were awful misplaced. Then I had the Abyssus, one of the best mouse for me, lightweight and nice shape. Then I turned to mamba tournament edition, heavier then abyssus, but worth it for the awesome ligths. I had to give up on it because of the sensor and the fact that it was sliding from my hands because of the sweat. Now I changed the keyboard and mouse to steelseries, I have the Rival 110 and it's perfect for me. Maybe not as good as the abyssus, but I wanted a change. I'm curious how the elite performs, now that it is lighter and maybe it has a better grip.

Hi RNJ, I hope you will read my comment sooner or later, I have a question for you: Do you think this mouse clicks are more silent than g203/g305? I´m thinking to replace my g203 because clicks are too loud but I can´t do it because I love the shape so much, the thing is there is not many alternative for small mouse or such. I do agree with you from last video which Ultralight should consider to make small mouse size.

The scroll wheel seems to have an issue on some copies where 1 step will register as 2 while going up or down, I had this issue on my first copy, exchangd it, and it was there on the 2nd one too but eventually it went away. I also saw some other people on reddit with the same issue.

Thanks for the review, How does the Mamba feel compared to the Logitech G903, I currently use the G903 and don't find it ideal for fast paced FPS but really like having the 4-way scroll which isn't available on any smaller/lighter mice. I've tried the original Mamba wireless (2012) and quite liked that shape but this one looks to have a wider grip width.

Hey Zy i read on the internet that a firmware update for the g203/102 of some months ago boosted the dpi to 8000 but also increased acceleration ruining performance. Did you tested it? Do you know if it has been fixed yet?

had my death adder elite for a little over a year and just a few days ago it started double clicking on the left mouse, just randomly. no big deal if you are a gamer but I trade the stock market and this double click cost my a nice chunk of money. just got the logitech g403 and so far so good. apart from gaming, rocket what is the most reliable mouse ???

I loved the HyperX Pulsefire FPS because I was able to put my whole hand on the mouse but the sensor was aging so I’ve been looking for a new mouse. Unfortunately the new Pulsefire surge changed the shape of the mouse and made it smaller so at the moment I’m using the Deathadder elite which is almost as big as the hyper x Pulsefire. Only problem with the Deathadder is the right side where the ring finger rests was sharp plastic so I had to put a piece of electric tape on it to make it smooth. Also the right click on the Deathadder sometimes feels weird like it’s not the same click as the left mouse. Do you know of any mouse with the same dimensions as the HyperX Pulsefire FPS?

Can you please review the Digital Alliance G Premium mouse? It is a 3360 sensor that only costs 25 bucks and most of the reviews don't even test the sensor like how you do, if you can it will probably made my month.

Did they fix the sensor tho? My mamba wireless is the first mouse I paid top dollar for and I keep in a drawer because the sensor is so bad I can't use it for even basic browsing.

Sean Thompson It is not a fix. It is a complete different sensor. The Mamba used a crappy Laser Sensor in the Wireless and the Tournament Edition. This new one is finally using a great Optical Sensor

I've had issues with Razer mice, they stop tracking for some reason. like as if it was unplugged. I'm not the only one with this issue. I have 3 other friends who have experienced this.. Is this just extremely bad luck or is this a sensor thing?

If it wasn't $90, I'd pick it up. But the Deathadder being $55 at my Best Buy was an easy decision, even though I prefer the Mamba shape.
