I know it's an old video but real cool definitely real cool. I just started my 49 Chevy that's sitting on a S10 chassis. Front end is stripped down and I'm installing 9-in coilovers with tin soldiers a arms. By chance do you remember what rack and pinion you used? I can buy a rack and pinion out of a 4x4 blazer for under 200 used. I would think it would be pretty compatible since it's still an S10. I will be going tubular front end as well so watching this build is a great eye opener to me. I've already shortened my 8.8 rear end and I have coilovers coming for the back and I'll be running a four link system. Feel free to throw ideas at me if you have time. I want major squat in the back so I may even transfer radiator and put turbo in the bed. Not sure yet.

I see you did some modification to the front crossmember to clearance the oil pan clean I maybe get some extra info I think I may have ruined mine on my 82 s10 trying to get it to clearance the oil pan.

Just use the tig for when your build tube frame.. pain in the ass to get the torch into that position and keep yourself steady.
@michaelmerrill5892 жыл бұрын
Take a small bullpen hammer hit the papper with it up against the frame end then you have a perfect cut template.

You'll love an "affordable bender" best 400 bucks I ever spent and it's super compact. Bent my frame horns up when I was doing them like you did, I tossed a slight 45 into them and super love the look. Would have done what you did though had I not had it

Could you do some type of hinge below the radiator maybe to lift the front end by tilting it forward . That would look cool as shit n you could tilt it yourself without having to have an extra person every time you take it off. Anyway good looking work so far and that tig welding looks pretty good to me I've never tried tig weldingbit looks tedious. I'll mig for now that's enough to handle.

It’s actually light enough that I can lift it off by myself if I have too. Thanks for the feedback on my welds too

Hey, are you the guy I saw a few years ago in Car Craft, I think, running 8's, with a turboed stock bottom end 5.3 LS mill? This rig is sweet. Last I heard, you were gonna go to a 6.0, tryin' for 7's--if that WAS you, did you get there yet, or are these mods part of that 7's chase?

It's been awhile since I seen your build, and like always amazing job .The truck is looking really good . Can't wait too see how the front turns out. It's amazing how you can just look at something and no what and how you are going too do it. Your talent for vehicle and builds are absolutely awesome. You should open your own shop.

The radiator I’m using is a speedway motors universal 26” dual pass radiator www.speedwaymotors.com/Speedway-Double-Pass-Aluminum-Radiator-Chevy,23864.html?sku=917340-26. I also have the shroud the match.
