Small trick I learned from working on lots of rusty nuts/bolts on a old jeep project... heat is your best friend.. LOTS of heat.. don't be afraid to make the old bolt glow.

Drilled/Slotted rotors and good pads. I have been 120 in the 1/8th and a short shut down and still got it stopped with stock rotors. 85 S10 Blazer, 3300 lbs.
@jerrellkull53473 жыл бұрын
You can upgrade a stock caliper with a larger piston stock caliper. Good pads, and cross drilled rotors will help. I like ceramic bearings, or oil filled hubs for low friction. I'm a fan of the old school Centerline convo wheels 15x12 out back for sure, and skinnies up front.

With ladder bar you still have to do frame work because the leaf springs don't sit outside the frame so the frame is where space issue come in..
@cathygambill15543 жыл бұрын
I moved my cab back and closed the gap between the cab and bed since a 10 point cage was installed to eliminate body flex. this also allowed the engine and trans to be moved as far back as possible Also the front tire location made the truck look better, stock tire location is too far rearward and looks goofy. just an idea since the truck has a poor engine location on frt spindle centerline. Not to mention your going turbo which has a lot of additional weight added to the nose.

If it were me I would do the upgraded pads & Rotors with some fresh paint on the calibers and splurge on some sweet Viking Shocks for the Rear im not a big race wheel fan but that joint would be fire with some bronze Te's with a triple R8 Tires on them but thats just my opinion with it being lowered and some Sick wheels and sticky tires Not only will it have the power plant but will also look good to like all around but its all on what the build ur going for is it race truck only or would it be a sweet pro street truck for cruisen....
@mikesawyer71513 жыл бұрын
If you want to lower it just go ahead and order lowering spindles that a way you can use your stock style steering and for front brakes just do slotted rotors and new pads
