This is so useful - genuinely. Glad I stumbled on this today. Amazing sounds coming from that 0-coast.

This is why I love the 0 Coast. Whenever I feel like I'm getting bored with it, or tired of it, I end up discovering video like this that unlocks a world I've missed within the little machine

Damn, this is some of the best sounds I've heard come out of the 0-coast period. Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge! BRB gotta go patch for the rest of today.

Oh mate, you single-handedly convinced me to keep my 0-coast! You can have my membership fee from today as my thanks 💯

You're very welcome and thanks for joining. There's no way I am going to sell my 0-coast. It's my 'teacher'.

I see modular beats on a non-drum synth and I am sold already. Delicious sounds, my man!

Fantastic! Was lucky to get a 0-Ctrl early so I’m going to try some of these patches. Recently moved my Tape Machine into a CV bus case; the 0-Coast is still my primary voice so I’ve been debating whether the DPO is needed yet. I’ve had the 0-coast for a couple of years and still finding new sounds. Looking forward to seeing how you combine them.
@CinematicLaboratory4 жыл бұрын
I don't think you need a DPO when the 0-coast still delivers you a good time. DPO is great, but it needs Maths and Optomix to run - or a 0-coast to drive it. I am looking forward finding out how good they'd work together but I'd recommend adding an STO instead of DPO if you want to extend the Coast's sound palette, basically turn it into a complex oscillator. STO can sync to 0-coast, you'll get Expo-FM and three additional waveforms, and you can just plug the STO right into the balance circuit.

Excellent suggestions, thanks! The STO would bring a lot to the table.

Synchronicity . I just got my O-Coast out of the closet , where it’s been for two years due a move and illness. All I have to modulate it is a Moog CP-251 and an SQ-1 and even with just that it is awesome.
@CinematicLaboratory4 жыл бұрын
Well, you have more than enough modulation to get it grooving! Have fun!
@rjschrei4 жыл бұрын
Cinematic Laboratory , Yes, definitely. With a 4 channel CV mixer and two S&H outs plus lag and LFO and multi’s, the CP- 251 is a good companion if you Don’t have a Eurorack set up.

Until my 0-Ctrl rocks up the best I can do is sync the 0-Coast with SQ-1 and Volca Beats. Can’t wait to get my hands on the 0-Ctrl’s unrestricted pitch settings- I have no idea what scales the SQ-1 uses but they’re like nothing I’ve heard. I also suspect I’ll be able to trigger some interesting percussive sounds out of my Behringer Crave too. Or 0-Crave as I shall call it if it works... Thanks for the inspiration; subbed of course!

You're welcome! Thanks for the sub and 0-ctrl will not let you down!

Sq-1 can be good? I have mother 32, sq-1 and 0 coast. Nice vids btw

Yes, any sequencer will work.

Can you show how to do this using other Make Noise modules like DPO, Optomix and so on?
@CinematicLaboratory4 жыл бұрын
You mean on a Shared System? I am planning to do a tutorial soon which will be dedicated to beats. But on the DPO it's much easier because it has four FM inputs and two oscillators. The hard part is having too many options :).
@CapriciousBlackBox4 жыл бұрын
You mean you have no, no control. I jest lol. Thanks for another great tutorial!

How did you rack your 0-coast?
@jthek20004 жыл бұрын
The O coast looks so huge in eurorack format.
@CinematicLaboratory4 жыл бұрын
Yes, it's a pretty little synth on its own, but a eurorack powerhouse in a bigger case :)
@enriquegamez84534 жыл бұрын
wath its the length of the O Coast in HP?
@CinematicLaboratory4 жыл бұрын
I'd say 45 HP but it's not compatible with a fixed rails. You need a case with sliding bolts. And if you use a DC to 12V adapter cable the connector will also use a 4 HP blank to cover it. So you'd need 49 HP space. The Shared System steel case has hollow edges so here I only have to use 1 HP blank, coming to 46 HP in total.
@MikeysteelUk4 жыл бұрын
Damn I need the eurorack don’t I.
@CinematicLaboratory4 жыл бұрын
What can I say... I know I need it. I had great fun with my PC and a lot of VSTs, but eurorack is something completely different.

It's a very immediate way to make sound. Not always *useful* sound, but sound nontheless.
