Far from it. They didnt put the fuse inline from the battery to the amps like they're supposed to and only used one fuse for the power going into the battery not out which is back asswards. If you want to learn how to properly install stereo systems watch Steve Meade

@@Deke1 they used one fuse going into the battery. They aren't supposed to do that they're supposed to put a fuse close to the battery on each positive cable going to an amp which they didn't do.

When I set gains on my customer's amps. I crank all the settings up all the radio. Then set it with the DD1+ then put everything back on a flat. I've had many people crank up the settings on radio and blow stuff up. Then come back excepting a free warranty. So I just started turning it up then tune then back it down. Never had a problem unless people crank the gain or bass boost on the amp.

JL Audio is offering a similar technology in their digital amps. JBL also has a similar technology, but it isn't as accurate. Rockford is using very similar tech to the SMD DD-1 for their C.L.E.A.N, so it actually works fairly well. I'd say improper gain settings are something I see far too often, even from shops that do installs. I hear from so many techs that "I just tune by ear and don't use any tools."

I have to do all my own work. It sucks, because I'd love to pay somebody competent to do the job, but every shop around here is cheap and takes shortcuts. I had to custom cut my own speaker mounts for a 91 LS400 because the stock plastic mounts are for 4" speakers and are awful. That's the kind of work I wish I could find somebody around here to do, because I have a kid and zero time. You guys do solid installs. The channel is really solid, too.

Clean install, but I prefer my wires hidden, and not a 1000 zip ties securing everything. I literally have the same set up, but my shop hid everything. Takes a little more time, but it definitely looks better.

Hugo Enriquez so I talked to them yesterday. Apparently this is a common anomaly. They do not knows what causes it, both of their adapters can have this happen. It does not effect the car other then what is says in the dash. They were kind of surprised I had not seen this yet with how many of them we do. Sorry I don't have better news
