I used to collect rocks alot but kinda drifted away from it. But after watching your videos and seeing you like a kid in a candy store I got the itch again. Been twice in a week and have a 5 gallon bucket full. I still dont know enough about it to know that I dont know enough about it lol. But they're pretty and fun. Keep up the good work man. Your videos are some of the best on here

Oh man Sean that’s so cool to hear mate. My nana used to fossick but I never knew as a kid, or as a teenager probably thought I was too cool, but as an adult I’ve found it is my greatest therapy. It’s peaceful and brings out the connection with that inner kid. Just big kids in the water. What’s better 👍

"Chalcedony ninjas" indeed! Did you know we have the exact same chalcedonies and agates here in Oregon? Only I find them in the desert, not in creeks. It's so cool to see you picking up exactly what I get excited to pick up too, half the world away!
@deegingerkid

I'm over on the coast! We can get some spectacular stuff here too. Occasionally get those waterline agates. Many times they're the banded concentric ones.
@biscuitEMT
@biscuitEMT 4 жыл бұрын
@@deegingerkid Do you know, I have never found a thing at the coast or even in the rivers! But I was born in the Mojave and maybe only the climate-kindred ones appear to me. I need the smell of sage to accompany my expeditions! Do you ever find zeolites on the coast? I've heard it's good zeolite hunting there. I usually just find beat-up ones on railbeds.
@deegingerkid
@deegingerkid 4 жыл бұрын
@@biscuitEMT - the best zeolite I know of are up north near Cape Meares. Look for a spot called Short Beach. Lots of chalcedony still in the host basalt. Huge pieces sometimes. Gotta go at low tide and walk north up the beach towards the big rock pile and beyond. All sorts there. A gorgeous dark green jasper is common up there too. I have many pounds of agate and jasper and jasp/ag from the beaches. Best hunting is in-between Newport and Florence before you get to the dunes.

biscuitEMT Haha! Yeah, i got that cause when we walk slow in the calm water we try not to make ripples and I said to Pauly, “I feel like we’re ninjas” haha! 7:00 wormy inclusions 🤓. And what I’ve read about waterline ~ the silica dissolves in the ancient waters, and fills in gaps in the host rock slowly and in stages. For each stage, some silica settles out forming white levels we see as the lines. The next level forms later due to changing pressure/heat/environmental conditions and the next level forms either until the gap is full or the final level is filled all at once so it looks to be all clear at the top of the nodule. Something like that (I’d have to go look for the source materials but I’m chillaxing on my days off watching fossicking videos). 😎

Hi Jesse, good to see you and "Paul the Rockhound" out in the creek, just a couple of "weirdos" doing a bit of duck diving in the creek, completely normal to me 😳😳. I just had a thought, its like two of those glass bird desk ornaments with fluid in them continually dipping down and up, except it's two grown men doing it in a creek, nothing strange about that, 😂😂😂. I missed to the opportunity to slip in to NSW while I could and now I could be waiting for months to get there, &@$)@! Oh well just have to keep searching SEQueensland. An old mate of mine has a property at Cloyna that I have not been to since he moved there 15 years ago, so I am going to try and make a trip up there. He said his kids were always waking in with pieces of coloured stone, sounds interesting. Could be interesting. As always good video Jess, great pieces, it's like watching a few mates wandering around having a bit of fun. Looking forward to the next creek. Keep Safe & Keep Well. P.S. All our best to Rhonda, Dave & family. Hope young will gets back to his normal self.

It was the weekend just before they closed the boarder. 😳😷 I’m devastated though, there’s so much down there I want to explore too! Not sure how long it’ll be. Man that place at Cloyna sounds super interesting! And on a property where you know the owner. Now that’s perfect for relaxed hounding. Let me know how you go my friend. Was gonna do some cutting today but it’s too windy to film, it’s nuts out there! Stay safe mate, and I’ll pass that on to Rhondda and Dave also. Thank you mate. Have a great rest of the weekend 👍

Oh icatz, I’m thinking of you guys over there. I’m guessing you mean Cali? I hope your week gets better. This year has been more than what we all needed I think. As for the snakes, our snakes are mostly land snakes but in summer they all love the water and can swim too. @@Rookie_Rockounding I'm in AZ, the state next door to CA. We're having new fires almost every day all summer, some quite serious, but you don't hear about us cause we're not California. the worms in the chert and quartz are called " foliation" caused by forming with impurities under pressure or squeezed in later. I think

That is SICK jewelry from rockcyclelapidary dude! I am in love... I meant to mention that to you in the update on Will video (I think that's when I saw you wearing it🤔) He does phenomenal work. I want me one haha! You guys did a great job for 1 hour bro! It just amazes me how much you find each time. That would be the jackpot kind of day for me. I don't even know my favorite of this bunch but Pauly's dark one was tight! The white lines (or black if you ever find any) in waterline agates is onyx...100% And I'm pretty sure you're right to call the one a tube agate...thats what my book calls it haha So good to see you both out there having a good time. Already subbed Pauly of course... Can't wait for more uploads from him...and for you to OPEN YOUR PACKAGE so he can have some goodies I put in there for him hehe....i know, I'm just giving you a hard time...in due time in due time.
