Beautiful place to go in the summer. I'm glad I live close by.

@@driftstone if you travel on the side road between Pollard Flats and Gibson Road, half way about is a creek coming out of the mountain. A local favorite swimming hole. If you bring a swim mask, you can swim with the trout. The creek comes out of a tunnel that you can walk in. With my two daughters, we've explored every road off I-5 from Bridge Bay to Hedge Creek falls. For pure trout fishing, Ash Creek is the place to go. Takes awhile to get up in their. Enjoyed your video. I always use barbless hook and wet my hands before ever touching a trout.

Good stuff Eric! I'm heading out to fish the upper Sacramento, McCloud and the pit, early November, this is very helpful. Thank you!

You're welcome! This oldie didn't produce many fish, but they're in there. Good luck up there

Thanks Wes and thanks for the feedback on that. I've been experimenting with different genres lately and I've been drawn to these more ambient pieces.

I just fished under those bridges, 06/18/2021. They were very deep and only could get a few hits on a fly. I pulled a few out with my spin casting with lure.

I bet they being mostly stockers in there is a big reason why the flies are less effective. Nice job figuring it out.

It's a hard river to fish. Flow looks a little high
@driftstone3 жыл бұрын
I'd say the flows in the video were pretty normal. You're right though, it is a tough nut to crack. It's a fun one to explore with access to virtually every mile of it.

Awesome footage hope to see you pull a fish out next time! BTW how do you access that spot it looks amazing?
@driftstone4 жыл бұрын
Hey, I hope so too. Fishing on under the hot midday sun can sometimes be tough. I literally followed a road that turned off Dunsmuir Ave that went down to the train tracks. Are you local?

I never do well in the really deep runs in upper sac ... 4 to 6 ft seems prime

Ha I appreciate it, but these kinds of comments are just trying to get a reaction. Best not to feed the trolls
