Afternoon Don, this is a great song by a wonderful band. Phenomenal lyricism, phenomenal arrangement, and phenomenal vocals. I like you was totally engrossed. I would like to recommend/request another of their songs that you haven't reacted to, it is a slightly newer song called "John Wayne". Thank you Don for this one and all the re-ups. Happy Father's Day weekend to one and all.---#UTRCM

Damn Don! What a choice of songs and what a reaction. I found this piece spell binding the same as you did and found myself reflecting back….. Back to the days when people did not take responsibility lightly. I may be or should I say I am dating myself but I remember a time when people shouldered their responsibilities and did whatever it took to not just get by, but to take care as well of those that they loved and those who relied on them for sustenance and guidance. As is so simply but ever so eloquently stated by the author “There ain’t no shame in being poor” what a mature and revealing line of verse. So much truth in that one phrase let alone the rest of the song. I hope that people will one day return to the time when getting by and having love was seen as more important than a big house and fancy cars. Sorry for going off on this tangent but I just needed to speak my feelings. #UTRCM

Unfortunately most popular songs of today glorify big houses and fancy cars instead of good, honest hard work.

@@cliffordbarnes1631 and what I didn't mention they glorify lying, cheating, stealing and killing to get it. Which is really sad.

@@mikebarnett9012 unfortunately my friend you and I are living in a time where everything is someone else’s fault! Nobody is held responsible and all faults lie at someone else’s feet. Luckily you and I realize what is really the truth…… We also share an appreciation for real music and not this recipe crap that the labels promote now!!! #UTRCM

@@cliffordbarnes1631 Yes the way Mom and Dad brought me up doing wrong wasn't the worse thing we all make mistakes but the punishment would triple if you didn't fess up. Also if I may recommend a good Father's Day song it is "Son Of A" and is all about being raced up right. It is s by Dillon Carmichael, he is out of Nashville, so that is a strike against him but he did write it himself and it isn't too overproduced. Also I do not hate all Nashville artist, some do still have a little integrity.

If this ain't about Christine and I as a young couple then I don't know what is. Today's her birthday (don't tell her I told, but she turned the big 50!) Still has the looks and vibrancy of the woman I married several decades ago. She believed in me, in us and I can never repay her enough for that. Great song by a great band...don't see these guys ever needing second jobs!

You are caught Mister! But it's fine, what can you do but laugh or cry about being a half a century old 😆! Thanks for the sweet words, and you are right about that song. You used to say one day we'll be old and sitting on porch rocking chairs together and I'll still love you, I always laughed, but here we are! I wouldn't change a thing. :-)
