Father/daughter duo. They had great harmonies. The father suddenly died and we lost all their future music.

One of my faves from the 70's. It was all over the radio for a long time --- always made me smile and tap my feet. Great suggestion Pedal Steel, and a wonderful reaction Don!

Hi Don, this song was a HUGE hit in the mid to late 70's. I believe it may have even crossed over to the pop charts, even though it is pure traditional country. As Margaret K. has already stated they were a father/daughter duo which in itself is a rarity as I can't think of any other Father/daughter duo's in the history of country music. Thematically the song reminds me of the Loretta Lynn song " Wings Upon Your Horns ". Another real good Kendall's song is " Pittsburgh Stealers" which is more of a traditional duet. Thanks for the great request Pedal Steel and great reaction/rating Don.---#UTRCM

This song was released in the late 70s. I was in middle school, and this song was all over. It crossed over onto the Pop charts. Not many people, including me, had ever heard of them, and I don't think they were ever heard from again. I think they were a Father/Daughter duo.

I grew up in a small country church. They had the little kids sing before Sunday school. One day this little kid starts belting this song out.......I laughed so hard.....they couldn't shut the PA down fast enough......lmao

I loved this duo but being father and daughter, they got a lot of flak for singing songs like this. Busy bodies thought it was wrong. I think they were awesome. She is still out there singing! Her father has passed. Another favorite is Pam Tillis daughter of Mel. Great voices.

Father ( Royce ) and daughter ( Jeannie ) were big hits in the 70s. Yes, she sang lead vocals and he played rythym guitar

Couldn’t go into a bar in the year this came out without hearing it about 10 times. To this day I think of two draft beer when I hear this song. “Thank god for the radio” is also a good one.

This duo did so many songs like this including the 'sequel' to this called 'It Don't Feel Like Sinnin' To Me'. The titles of their songs also played off of popular football teams like their hits 'The Pittsburg Stealers' and 'A Dallas Cowboy and New Orleans Saint'. They followed up the 'cheating' blatant 'cheating' songs with 'Teach Me To Cheat' and the "Cheater's Prayer'.

Pittsburgh Stealers... mind the spelling...is a fantastic tune they did. The daughter (Jeanie) her voice towers and shines on "Put it off until Tomorrow" another top tier tune. This song, their most commercial, is a gateway drug to more introspective and interesting art.

@Jeff Tappan I already do a lot of work without pay, so how much time do you think I have to do research? Also, it’s not a research channel, it’s a reaction channel. I spend about fifty hours per month and don’t get paid. It’s for fun and I’m gonna keep it that way. As for things being obvious, of course they’re obvious when you already know the song.

I would put Karen Carpenter up against your Allison Krause, as the gold standard for female vocals.
