She is talented like her father and loved and respected him too for sure! I hope my children feel at least a third of that about me even now and also definitely when I'm gone! 💕

Great song from the past. Damn, this is back when she was married to Rodney Crowell. This song stayed on the radio a long time and really, the only 1 of 2 I remember getting radio play. Her songwriting was amazing!
@kcc90785 жыл бұрын
Wasn't that during her (and Rodney's) "rough" times? Seems like I remember this on her Seven Year Ache album (idk if that was the album title now that I think about it lol)....I had no idea that she was struggling as she was😕 I love Roseanne --- her music, strength, and courage.

Did that documentary say she didn't want to record any of her dad's songs. She wanted to make it on her own. She didn't know this was one of his songs until after she decided to record it. Rosanne has a lot of great songs!!

I was unfamiliar with Roseanne Cash at the time but, hearing this song, and Seven Year Ache on the radio sent me running out to the record store at the local mall to grab her new cassette, King's Record Shop in 1987. I still have that much played cassette, it still works....played just last week in my 1992 Ford Ranger's cassette player! That, and a much loved Restless Heart tape of a little later vintage. Such a wonderful tune, uniting generations with it's sweet simplicity. Thanks for running it👌

I love, love, love this!!! She has sung and played this w her Dad. It was one of his first songs way back when. Did I ever tell you I went to school, public school, with Roseanne Cash. In Hendersonville TN just outside of Nashville. Where Johnny and June had a home on the lake. Love it so much.

@@RockN2Country Thanks hun. It was fun. She was really nice and loved a good party. Bet she still does. She is a great environmentalists. She does a lot in her everyday life to keep chemicals and plastics out of her home. When she had her babies she used only cloth diapers. So it's not just a celebrity face to a cause, she really believes in it. Our High School had a program we participated in and it had a lasting affect.

It's rare that a Johnny Cash version of a song isn't the best version, but for me, this is the exception. LOVE Roseanne's version!!

Seven Year Ache is one of my absolute favorite songs, especially when I found out that it's about her then-husband Rodney Crowell. BTW, the live version on KZbin is too short.

I love this song by both Johnny and Roseanne, but the guitar is always the star when it comes to this song. One of the best guitar riffs ever and Johnny wrote it.

When she released this song in 1987 I would have been 10 years old. I remember it very well. A very popular song. I think her version I s better than Johnny's version. The acoustics here aren't very good, but check out her studio version.

You should listen to "September When It Comes" which is a duet she did with Johnny. It turned out to be somewhat prophetic since Johnny died in September.

Loved Roseanne's outlook on her father Johnny and her cover of this song. I'm pretty sure that you would like her collaboration with Bruce Springsteen covering the old Don Gibson song "Sea of Heartbreak". It's from an album entitled "The List", which Roseanne realeased around a decade back

I always liked this song. I knew her version before her dad’s. I think of this as her song. One of her biggest hits. Check out the studio version. This live one is good, but I think the studio version is better in this case.

That was an amazing tribute, about the soul of her father!❤ This recommend is a little outside the box; Floor Jensen - I Don't Know A Thing About Love / Beste Zangers 2019. Floor is the front women for a metal band called Nightwish, she does an amazing country version of this song!!! Please check it out & enjoy. Peace😎

There is a segment from that same memorial special, where Rodney Crowell tells the story of the first time he went to Johnny Cash's house. He and Rosanne were dating at the time and they went to stay a few days with Johnny and June. I'm not sure if it is on youtube or not but, it's quit funny. I highly recommend watching it if you can find it.

Respectfully correct in not rating this , As for quality ,Video not as good as could be , but given the event it was recorded ,understandably so. You only get tongue tied when you are moved emotionally, as we all do. Always liked Roseann and this song was my favorite of hers and as others have said ,knew it before I found out John had previously recorded it /Thank you for sharing , Have a wonderful day
