I remember the first time I heard Bobby Bare. It was 79 or 80 at a buddy’s house. He was a BIG fan. He would get stoned and listen to Bare. Ah the memories of old friends long gone!

I'm looking at the title before I listen and I know Dons gonna Crack up. Bares got a song , singing in the kitchen, banging on the pots and pans with gravy on his guitar strings. Makes me laugh. Fun old song.

React to “God Bless America Again” Loretta Lynn with Bobby Bare, I think there’s only a live version but still speaks true to today

Funny you should mention Waylon with Bare,Bare was driving through Pheonix and heard Waylon on a local radio station. When he got back to Nashville he told Chet Atkins that Waylon deserved a shot, but he probably shouldn't tell him because they did the same sort of songs.Since you like story songs check out Tom T Hall's The Cowboy and The Poet(Faster Horses) or The Year Clayton Delaney died

Believe it or not, Don Bowman (country comedian) has a song called Poor Old Ugly Gladys Jones, and Bobby, Waylon and Willie are all on it! I thought this song sounded like Shel Silverstein, never would have thought of Mac Davis being involved, too. Bobby has at least one album of all Shel Silverstein songs.

If you haven’t heard it you should check out his song Streets Of Baltimore. It’s about a guy who takes his girl to the big city. While he’s working she goes out and becomes a hooker. Also you should check out Waylon Jennings’ song Drinkin’ And Dreamin’. It’s about a guy who dreams of living the outlaw life but he’s already has a family & a good paying job he can’t stand.
