These are the redwings of Australian construction work wear. I wouldn't use the waterproofing spray, its typically silicone and can cause rot. Buy a bottle of obenauf lp should last you a lifetime. I do like the cobblers choice too

The eyelid on the top is for tying them down so the laces don't come undone off the speed laces. A safety thing.
