I love Marbles and have been collecting them since the 70s. People paying those kind of prices for marbles have definitely lost their marbles. Vintage hand-made and machine-made American marbles are worth more than precious metal in today's world😮

You are so lucky to have found that area. I live in Florida and it's sandy but I did find some glass and clay marbles from an 1880's house on our property. I don't know where to go to have them appraised. I have collected them at yard sales as well. Be careful ..a lady in town dug in what was the town dump from the 1880's on and contracted a weird sickness and died. With that news keep digging!

We always referred to that specific marble as a "transition marble". I only have one mint example 1' gray and white, has the large fold in it. I read that they were marbles that were machine made, but on much cruder types of marble roller designs, and the glass was often hand fed into the rolling device. The beautiful long roller screw design machines were patented in the 1920, and it was an automated process.

That would be so awesome : ) I love little jars!! Awesome finds thanks for sharing. CONGRATS on the rare, two thumbs up hun
@rockscousteau3 жыл бұрын
It wont cost you much on ebay. Lots of people dig these marble kings and sell them. If I was going to buy a Bumble Bee Shooter I would pay 10-12 dollars for it. But then you can get into ones that are like hybrids....with unique coloring and the seller may want a little more. Like 20-30 dollars. But like an average size bumble bee.....like most I find is a few bucks....1-3 dollars. You will even be able to find a lot of like a half dozen auction style on ebay......Just watch the marble category. Some people want an arm and a leg for marbles. I would say someone will want 50.00 for some on there. You just want to watch the auction style listings.....you may even be able to find an entire small collection of different marble kings in a lot...like a few bumble bees....a Wasp....A tiger....a robins egg.......and get all of them for like 20-25 bucks. It just depends.
