I plugged this into the speaker output of my 100w tube head and played some death. The console burst into flames, is this normal?

I know. my point is that it's not wrong, just transitioning into a mode that wasn't shown. I really hope the game doesn't box you into one particular mode and force you to only play that. instructing players to transition b/w modes like if they're playing a scale in Ionian mode then if they play a flat 7th by "mistake" the game could then switch them over to the Mixolydian scale since it's a major scale with a flat 7th real bands switch modes on the fly like that. jam mode needs to do this too

For anyone out there, ive never picked up a guitar in my life but im intrigued by this game. Will it actually teach me how to play the guitar, or do i need to learn the basics then play this?
@im_cart8656
@im_cart8656 10 жыл бұрын
this alone won't teach you how to play guitar but it is one of the best tools you could possibly get. the minigames are basically the boring practice a teacher would assign you teaching you chords, learning where you are on the fret/strings, scales but they make it really fun and addicting, it also has videos on basic guitar upkeep and other basic skills like transitions and mutes hammer ons to some more advanced ones etc. the songs are the fun satisfying part that kind of gauge your growth but it is the minigames, riff repeater, and the lessons (like in the original) that will really make you familiar with your guitar so you don't get lost and constantly have to look down to see where you are. the session mode is the only thing on the market of it's kind that i know of too, and i've had a bit of fun with that as well music theory, correct picking patterns and of course getting tabs of your favorite bands off ultimate guitar and a couple decent YT channels would also help you quite a bit. fortunately all of that is free so pair this with the game and your off to a hell of a start. (guitar pro doesn't hurt either) i loved the first one. 2014 is twice as good. go get it.

So, essentially, an exercise in anti-social behaviour where you spend money on a game pretending to be in a band when otherwise you could go out, interact with society, form your own band and develop your skills in the presence of other people? Wonderful... so we'll be a nation of guitar playing Fred Wests. On another hand, it could enhance creativity for already adept guitarists who spend hours manually arranging drum sequencers only to forget their ideas once the drums have been arranged.

You have different effects and pedals and a lot more IN game, just like the original Rocksmith. It has lot's of virtual hardware components, like pedals and amps, all inside the game, so no need for a amp. This game is totally worth it, and I already pre-ordered it.

Wait, he changed amps on-the-fly, while playing!? Please tell me there is a footswitch or floor-pedals of some kind. I need a footswitch. That, and an expression-pedal. Auto-wahs just aren't my style, but that's all Rocksmith had.

bought this game day one, and the difference between rocksmith and rocksmith 2014 are great. My main gripe with the first one was load times. It took forever to load songs, change amps, look through chord books, practice sessions, and just anything that had you change menus. Rocksmith 2014 can get you in and out of menus and options in mere seconds and drum session is pretty damn cool. I already bought the import key.

Agreeed.. One question though.. Am I gonna be able to get that distortion or wah sounds, without any pedal or anything at low volumes??!! Because if thats the case, INSTANT BUY! I play %100 clean with no amount of gain whatsoever.. If I am gonna be able to get overdrive and cool pedal sounds at low volumes and jamming with a virtual responsive band, this is a no brainer for me! Please respond :D

so if I start playing 5/8 subdivided by 4/4 and shifting keys, the AI will keep up? if so, that's awesome. if it's all 4/4 or 3/4 and pentatonic, then I'll wait. the only thing I really care about at this point is if the audio quality on DLC is better. or if they include some Zappa tracks like Watermelon On Easter Hay, or a Duran Duran track like Ordinary World or Electric Barbarella.

Too bad for you. I went from being a newb at rock band, to regularly gold-starring song on expert in a matter of months. A couple of years later, I got Rocksmith. I started liking how I got better BY PLAYING THE SONGS I LOVED! EVERYTHING I had learned, meant nothing. Seriously. Now, after a mere 40 hours playing Rocksmith, I can play along with many songs, and scoring very high percentages and scores! If you want to check, look at some of the videos on my channel.

Most of these are online so some features for offline are also listed, but more focusing on offline, there should be a feature where you can SAVE songs which you had just made like the feature they was just using. You should have the freedom to press record at ANY point and then the game should also record everynote and drum pattern played. Once done, you should be able to have a archive to songs you have recorded and sample songs which you can edit such as: Tunings, Key/time, patterns and bars.
@ThatCrazyHobbit
@ThatCrazyHobbit 11 жыл бұрын
They should also add a few features which I just thought up:- - To be able to play 7-12 string songs (If you own guitars such as) - Metronome (he mentioned ''clickin'', if you're a guitarist you know how important that is) - Online duelling AND team duelling (Idea from @Metalshredder6). For example for TD, they should have two guitars and one bassist per band (Vocals possibly? I'm new to the game), and have a similar band and those two bands can duel. - Vocal lessons - Split screen - Tournaments

So basically... This game got 1000x better. What about "different" scales? Could there be a harmonic minor if i'm feeling Yngwie? Or maybe another thing where you can sort of make an outline of a song? Say if you wanted to do a modulation to a different key, or play a quick diminished run? All in all.... This A.I. musician thing... Genius. Pure awesomeness. I can now just jam when I want to jam. So psyched.

I play guitar in a band with a real drummer, you shouldn't have to pre-empt when to play a note to be in time, it should be natural. Most of the songs are actually fairy easy to play in a live band situation, but I found with the latency that it was much harder, I could compensate for the delay, but I really shouldn't have to. Agreed on the improv part of the new one though, looks good.

Rocksmith has made me a better guitar player. Plus it is fun. This 'game' makes me pickup my guitar much more frequently. But Rocksmith is not the end all be all in guitar training. It is just another tool to help you become a better musician, especially for beginners. It helps keep you motivated. You should at least try it before you decide.

I REALLY WANT THIS GAME!!! I remember the first one that came with a shitty guitar. Hopefully they can up the quality(even if you have to pay more). The previous game is still pretty solid but only if you want to just learn the songs that are in it. I really don't see the point in getting the previous game looking at the these amazing features that are in gonna be in the 2014 version. OH MY GOD!!!!! I can't wait to have an A.I. drummer! As a working musician I use the original rocksmith as a practice tool to hone my playing. Personally this is the only game I support for people learning guitar because it does a great job at teaching the basics and improving movement as well as not forcing you to look at your fretboard.

I loved the previous Rocksmith. I'm learning so much from it, but still a total numpty on the instrument. However, I've nearly mastered a song (even though its probably the easiest song to master but hey-ho). My only complaint is the song selection. I want it to be as vast as the ones in Guitar Hero or Rockband - have more metal and rock tracks as well.
@squat224

It plugs in with a guitar cable, so acoustic electric might, but I don't know. I know electric works though, and since you are learning rock songs, it would be a prudent purchase. Check out rondo guitars (google it) really good stuff and super super cheap, with some of the best return policy I have ever seen.

I don't think so. I practice alone and I would much rather have some sort of backing music that played with me. If I don't have people to play with, then this is a fantastic substitute. As a guitar player, this is a massively helpful tool. I wouldn't stay inside all day with it.

You basically repeated what he asked. He asked if it was like guitar hero with a real guitar. Guitar Hero had real songs, just a fake guitar. In essence it is like Guitar Hero but you use a real guitar. I do wish the song list was better for Rock Smith cause I'd love to play some Styx.

I can't put a link here, but search google for rocksmith 2014 FAQ: What about the on-disc songs from the original Rocksmith? Can I play those? Rocksmith 2014 Edition will be backwards compatible! I will admit it's cool, but I highly doubt this game will teach you the mechanics of the major and minor scales and the theory behind them. It looks to me like it just says, 'play these notes and you'll sound great!' But WHY should you play those notes?
