Rocksmith 2014 Edition - Riff Repeater Tutorial

This tutorial should be in game, it took me several days to completely understand the game mechanics and this riff repeater tool. Anyway, thank you!

Why doesn't Rocksmith give an option to play 1 riff over and over again until the player masters it, add another. let them master, so on and so forth until they master the whole enchilada? It's painful to open up Riff Repeater, practice a riff and fool around with the keyboard all while holding a guitar. Also, add some voice recognition for start, stop, pause and rewind using the communications device for speech input or even a pedal. How about opening it up for plug-in support so we can mod it?

Why not a pause, rewind and fast forward function?????? For complicated solo's even 1 is too fast. The game is a fail thanks to this oversight.

Only issue I have is when a fast solo happens, even at speed 1 it goes by too quick. I wish you could just pause the game and look at the notes.

Bruh, what? Did you watch the video? You can literally turn riff repeater on and put the speed all the way down no matter the difficulty so you can do exactly that.

@@crackerjackrappr i think you dont understand, even at speed 1 the notes pass too quickly so if you have not memorized them before it gives you no time. It would be useful if you could just pause the video before the song continues (for example, automatically stopping until you play the right chord). Or just let us see the chords before without the rush for gods sake.

That is called a tablature book. Look up the song on songster or Ultimate guitar tabs or buy the tab book with the song in question in it.

is there a way to turn of the rewind sound fx? I dont know why but that sound just drives me crazy. Also any way to bump the speed up to 105%, 110% or 120% So that you can practice a little faster than normal, then when you go back and play the your playing is more relaxed when playing 100% speed.

There is no riff repeater option in songs for me. Why is that?

Ooooh, this does so much more than I thought it did. TBH, the GUI in this game is one of the worst I've seen. For the PC version anyway. It was a week before I saw the "Play Song" button, because it's greyed out when your mouse is not over it. I was pressing the PC equivalent of "Select" with my mouse, and half the time that works, the other half of the time it clicks through the button and toggles Score Attack, so I had no idea why I was "failing" songs half the time.

Similarly to how you avoided the third section because it was too long, there are sections like that where the middle bit of the phrase is really difficult, bookmarked by really easy. It would be nice to select parts of a phrase (especially at slow speeds) so that you aren't waiting forever through the easy bits to get to the part you're trying to learn.

Any chance of fixing all the bugs with the accelerating? The repetitions are only followed the first time, after that it accelerates every play through. Also when you succeed at 100% speed, if you don't have auto-continue on, it just resets to the original speed. Also, it would be nice to allow setting smaller automatic increments. The jump from 90->100% is huge compared to 50->60%

Does anyone know if you can make Riff Repeater reverse not quite as much as it's doing? It's really tedious having to wait so long for it to get to the part you want to practice..Especially when the song is slowed down....I hope there's a work around to this because it really lets the game down otherwise

+wbl2012 +7Earthsky At the top of the screen where it shows what part you're in you can see buttons on the sides. You use them to change where you want to start and end.

dolorismachina2 I know that, but the steps it allows you aren't small enough...They are big chunky sections of the song..Often meaning you have to wait ages for the part you want to practice to come around..Not one or two seconds back which is best.

I've calibrated several times and have my guitar all the way up yet with certain notes for instance stay in by jaws the main two chords it has a hard time registering them especially in the outro chorus , a guitar guy told me recently when I got my plug fixed my strings are a little high , could that be the problem ?

@@brucecoulda1596 yeah, sometimes it doesn't work with certain frets. There's really no fix for that tbh that I have found. It can also work better on different guitars. I have not tried changing strings yet though. So maybe try thinner strings I guess.

Riff Repeater By the Nine, I hope that that ends up being true. The state that the game is in now on the PS3 leaves me wondering if there was even a single round of play-testing ever done for it, which is a crying shame, because I feel like it otherwise improves on the original Rocksmith in every way.

Riff Repeater Indeed I did. While the patch didn't end up fixing the most glaring issue that has been happening with my copy of the game (which someone on the Rocksmith forums seems to think is the result of a corrupted install; uninstalling and re-installing things won't fix it, unfortunately) since I bought it, I did manage to find a way around that issue as well thanks to some help from someone on the forums.

I swear to God I wish it wasnt just riff repeater where you have to repeat everything. Just let the whole entire song be 100% notes and stuff so I play it just like the song and make it go SUPER slow so I can know I'm doing it perfectly like the original song and so I can do it great. I want it to be super slow so I can learn the song.

Soo, what are difficulty repetitions? I guess rewatching that part I kind of understand but a little more detail about it would be nice. Also, there needs to be a way to make it so that a song doesn't level down while you playing a song not in Riff Repeater.

One thing that I would find extremely useful would be to have one more control that allowed switching between current level and the presets for score attack easy, medium. This would save a lot of time when trying to perfect a certain score attack level. I often like to select an entire song in riff repeater and slow it down a little, to where I am near a 100%. Then I'll gradually increase the speed by a percent or two until I am back to full speed.

I think it's an old version but I need to start with something. Eventually I'm going to buy the latest version .I just wanna be sure it's not just a kids game .
