I've got three of the 4x4 300's. Two 1999's and one 2000. They are the best atv ever made. Honda knocked it out of the park when they made them.

It ran low on oil, and it started knocking got it running, and it leaks oil under the case a little bit but other than that still runs it’s mint Honda does never die

Great work! A few things this video reminded me to share. Kerosene is hands down the best lube for tapping aluminum. If you really got off center and needed to get back, you could bolt another cover on with the other two bolts and use it as a guide. Might have to drill the cover and insert a steel dowel to keep the drill bit in line, but it'll work. Soaking the towels with water will give you more time before they catch fire, but it'll also wick heat.

That's awesome that you have a honda fourtrax 300 two wheel drive. I've always wanted one before which they are very hard to find. I could only easily find them in four wheel drive, but at least I found my 400ex as a perfect two wheel drive sport quad though. Now time to compare the 89 fourtrax 300, the 91, fourtrax 300, & 93 fourtrax 300, even though you don't have it anymore. Awesome surprise!!

I loved the part where you cleaned the threads on the last bolt, so you wouldn’t break a bolt in there. I was lazy to do that and now have to do that on my 02 grizzly lol 😂 When I decided to bail and take the bolt out, it snapped as soon as I tried to reverse it out lol.

I’m currently having trouble getting the electric start to work. I replaced the electric start motor, new relay, wiring harness, spark plug wiring, spark plug, carburetor, kill switch, neutral switch sensor, and reverse switch sensor. Kick starts, runs good. Neural light doesn’t come on. Lights work, low high beams, kill switch, but not the push start, all parts are Honda OEM genuine parts, nothing cheap. Replaced the fuses in the starter relay cable. Looked over the wiring numerous times, checked the connectors, almost everything I know to check. If the neutral light bulb goes bad, will it prevent it from push starting ?

My folks have a 99 bombardier traxxter 500, and I was wondering if you were gonna say something about popping the air box and covering the intake. We've had to do that on ours for the last 20 years.
