My 99 sportsman has original tires and just hit 1000 miles my dad bought it brand new. I put it underwater once. I drained all the fluids and have never had a problem. She's a runner.

I have a question if you see this sir, or any one here in the comments. 4 years ago I bought a 05 sportsman 500HO, seller stated “my dad bought it new, we used it to hunt etc “. I rode it, I noticed he watched me very closely (later I knew why). I bought it, took it home, within an hour it was overcharging, had a lot of problems. I got it all fixed, but during the repair process I found the machine had likely been flipped and the gauge cluster/speedo replaced with a junkyard unit (paint marker markings on speedo assembly) I thought about replacing it with another gauge pod, the glass is hazy on the inside, if I put a new one on it will the mileage read what the old one reads? I know it’s not accurate, I replaced the computer with a new Sure Power module as part of my repairs (if that stores memory of miles etc) thanks for any input.

You should try using a ultrasonic cleaner on the carburetor,it’s a lot faster and guarantees them clean

Hey rock I have a off topic question about a Honda rubicon 19-23 years and can probably be older not 100% sure though. But here is my question/explanation? So i have a issue with my tire wearing on one side only and so I thought it was my ball joints but when I popped my axle out of the hub the inner bearing race was on the axle still. Obviously I bought the wrong part but I put them on anyway my questioning though is how hard would it be to change the wheel bearing without having a hydro press or punches. Sorry for the long winded comment
@rockspowersports11 ай бұрын
Usually when the inner race is stuck on the axle I’ll take a air hammer to it. Or you could use a hammer and chisel just don’t accidentally hit the axle. As far as getting the outer race out of the hub same deal, I use a air hammer on stubborn ones. To install a new bearing, a press would be ideal but they can be tapped in but you cannot hit the center of the bearing only tap on the outer race.

@@rockspowersports thank you for the information I will remember this as I move forward on the project hopefully it won’t be a pain to get out as it’s a 2023 but I do a lot of mud riding so hard to say. Hey question for you. Im looking at buying another atv would like to do a utility machine between 300-500cc. If i want something that is easy to repair would you be willing to recommend one?
@rockspowersports11 ай бұрын
If simplicity is your goal I would suggest a Honda Rancher 350/420 or the Honda foreman 400/450/500 foot shift for simplicity when repairing them. There is many great machines out there but these are reliable and have an air cooled engines and foot shift trans so they are as simple as they come.

What happens if you don’t bleed the oil system?
@rockspowersports11 ай бұрын
The top end could run dry for a minute. Eventually it’ll pump itself up but the priming helps it go quicker.

@@rockspowersports good to know! I did a complete engine overall on this arctic cat 500 and it was running amazing but after like 10 hours on the engine I decided to take it full tilt down the road and it exploded oil out of every gasket on the engine. :/
