The sad thing is, if they hired just 25 modders, this game could get a second life: - Dynamic Seasons for Singleplayer and Online - Dynamic encounters - Dynamic regions} - Dynamic Heists - Dynamic Stage Coach robberies - Gold panning and other side activities - Jobs - Expanded and Enhanced - Usable dogs for hunting and protection - Undead Nightmare - Mexico and other new regions I don't understand why they don't simply do this. All content above is ALREADY made by modders. Simply hire them as a new (remote) team, specifically to keep RDO alive. The amount of money R* has to invest is peanuts in comparison to what they will earn by this. Just give them some tools and there would be a steady stream of new stuff for this game, including new regions, weapons, missions, game modes, etc. A man can dream, but I feel this is a dream which is actually realistic, but simply refused by someone higher up for an unknown reason.

Yeah, I played them yesterday, and at that cut scene in the “Defense of Mercy” mission, both my friend and I thought that the woman had set us up, and was performing a sting operation on us, or something (until the mission informed us that she had been kidnapped.) I also noticed that the carriage driver seemed to be lacking reactive pathfinding, as he would run my horse over if it happened to wander into his path, and also he seemed to be swinging weirdly wide at corners, and even occasionally popped about a bit, as if using lag switching 😂

We scour the docks for some clue for where she was taken, and when we get to her holding area in Thieve's Landing, her carriage driver is already there. 1. Follow/Escort NPC Missions are a big NoNo - they were bad enough in story mode and the banter was the only saving grace 2. The missions got all the writings of content that never made it to release over em. Lack of testing, weird AI behavior, extremely awkward moments of just standing around - I'd say those are the leftover spaces waiting for voice lines or interactive prompts. The standoff is a perfect example: The enemies don't react immediately after the cutscene cause there was probably supposed to be a deadeye draw event happening which was never included.

i still really hope in future online games they stop the mute protagonist thing. It was okay-ish in GTA V ( note :: not sure if it became cringey later, I only played it for a little bit when it was fairly new lol ) but almost every interaction with your character in red dead online is cringey and awful and maybe this is weird, but i hate that you can't acknowledge NPCs that greet you really. All player emotes in RDO feel like they play too long to simply return a greeting or whatever. Rockstar has more than enough money to hire 3-4 male voice actors and 3-4 female voice actors to voice your player character and actually make engaging cutscenes, and can have a programmer do a slight pitch correction script if there were to be two players who happened to choose the same voice in the same cutscene to keep everyone sounding distinct or w/e. When you're just standing there watch the carriage guy do his business and there's no dialogue is so dumb lol I always thought that was one of the reasons that made RDR2 such a great game is while you CAN zoom as fast as possible to the mission, if someone is alongside you for the journey, they usually have more than enough dialogue to fill the space that you kind of feel happy to take the journey slowly and listen to what your buddy has to say.

That section you discussed at 10:30 was bad on so many levels. I hate how Rockstar's idea of difficulty is spawning you on a bridge with 4 enemies directly in front of you and 4 enemies directly behind you. No option to approach this encounter in any way, e.g. from long range or stealth. 0 lives on ruthless difficulty so fuck you if you get one-shot 0.5 seconds after the cutscene ends. It's like Rockstar have no idea how to create difficulty other than to 1) spawn 100s of enemies at you in endless waves 2) make the enemies extreme bullet sponges that take 20 shots to kill 3) spawn you in the middle of a group of enemies at close range so they can all have a free shot at you.

I played it today, and honestly, It felt amazing to play new RDO content. Yes, it was far from impressive, but: 1. That quality insinuates that it was made recently rather than just something they had in the archive, which COULD be a positive sign. At least someone is working on it, and there CAN be a reason for that. 2. My favorite thing about RDO is the IMMERSION and atmosphere, and going hunting with a guy or a bunch of brawls in the city was perfect for that. 3. ANY new content bringing me back to this amazing game is positive for me. Any time I play RDO, it's so bittersweet. I absolutely love this game, and no matter how much I look forward to GTA VI, I don't think the ATMOSPHERE and setting of RDO can ever be replaced by that. It's so unique, so I will always hold onto hope that maybe they'll go back to maintaining BOTH their online games after GTA VI is out. Naive? Maybe, but that hope is worth it.

Yeah the bodyguard missions are bad, but they pay pretty good for what you have to do. Shoot 25 people max, follow a carriage, find the client, done. My first time doing one I got the max payout 0.73 gold and 30ish dollars. Bad for $ but good for gold.

RDO player character is quite suitable as a courier role, carrying important messages and other stuffs that should stay unseen by most people. The hostile NPC will come and try to steal it if they succeed mission fail is when they got away and player failed to retrieve the stuffs. A lot of things can be added in here: ambushes, good quality horses for the NPC for chasing down the player and run away, carriages, even armed trains and law enforcement / bounty hunter hunting for the player. And depends on the honor system the players will be doing courier for the good guys or the bad guys. Random brain fart because Rockstar designers and writers are non-functional here.

I get the impression that this was not a verified DLC. Like the top levels of RockStar didn't authorize this to be developed, and is most likely one of the developers who is tasked with game maintenance trying to make something to keep the game alive. These developers would not have the time or experience to craft well fleshed out DLC, which this isn't. To my understanding, a lot of the development team on RDRO was pulled to work of GTA6...
