Hey man I wanna give you some thanks, I bought and installed 2 sets of infinity kappa components based on watching a bunch of your old videos. I was torn between the jbl gto because of price but went with the kappa so I would only have to install once. Glad I did, they sound awesome and a better upgrade from my previous components (rockford power components)

Imo, from my experience, when you buy a cheaper brand, you run the risk of getting one with mechanical problems because of the qc at the chinese factories. I have bought just about every brand out there, and there are some amazing brands like rockville and mb acoustics, but ive also got some with misaligned coils , insufficient glue , so on and so fourth. Also consider longevity , even when crossing over at a higher frequency to meet the rms power rating, the cheaper coil windings can burn up easily if you get carried away withe the volume knob. With that out of the way, yes you can still get a hell of a deal when u get a correctly built set, but always remember you are rolling the dice and sometimes they dont want to give you your money back. If the coils burn, its your fault whether they were broken in at half rms power and still below rms after break in . Prv and timpano are among the best in value, just in my experience, but i do have some rockvilles that are over a year old, and still playing great on about 80 watts a peice from an orion xtr1000.4. Thats another thing i want to add, run good amps and head units when you get the cheap speakers. Clipping kills them fast, and to set amp gains and find the clipping point of the head unit, hook up a tweeter crossover on the positive wire and play a test tone below 100 hz . Adjust your volume or amp gain until you hear a buzzing noise come from the speaker ,thats clipping. Then back it off till you dont hear it .then u are set.

I will be installing them in my Harley Davidson saddlebags and will be giving them 200 watts RMS. Im crossing my fingers that they can handle the power! Do you think you are giving them more than 200 watts RMS ?

40 for the Rockville RM68PRO, another 40 for the boxes, 10 for the fiberfill, 5 for the sandpaper to make the holes bigger so the speakers fit, 2 days sanding out in the sun + tax and I still need the wire, crimp clamps and screws. Oh, and maybe some kind of passive crossovers ...

You can tell the Rockville’s play higher but the faitiles play cleaner... It almost sounds like the faitles are muffled but the Rockville’s don’t sound as nice. I think my purchase decision would be based purely upon if I wanted to cross them over to play higher or lower... if I want more low punch faitles, if I want something that plays higher Rockville all the way

You guys should stay away from cheap speakers, they have a tendency to blow and damage your amplifier at the same time so be careful

Believe it or not , quality control can fail.. even in the best car amplifiers or any other electronics, fosgate makes. Good quality products. Right now I have 2 old school rockford fosgate T1000 linked together to a 2 image dinamics Idmax no issues but before the Idmax I had 2 12 JL audio w6..I blew them ,,,,and the amplifiers got in to protect mode as should be.
