The only thing that was wrong with this movie is the deleted scenes ended up on the cutting room floor and not in the movie. This movie could have been 4 hrs long and we still would have wanted more Rocky Balboa...

Paulie's been working 31 years at the meat plant? So he was working there when the family had money in Rocky 3 and 4? I find that hard to believe.

I think it’s just inconsistencies in the movie and obviously they did this to keep this movies storyline alive. Because there was one inconsistency that was noticed by viewers is that after Rocky IV, and in Rocky V he sustained life long complications to his brain after the Drago fight and he was not legally not allowed to fight again. But in this film, that never happened and didn’t align with part V… However I’m saying that, the only thing that seems borrowed from that movie was how his assets got seized and how he lost his wealth.. hence why both of them are either operating a business or working.. but still, if he was rehired and forced to work… it’s not total of 31 years..

rezneba101 they were cutting back and Paulie had too much time as had 31 years in. Sometimes happens when plants are slowing down and people get laid off. They were paying Paulie more then some of others and decided to hire someone else to replace him that hire for cheaper. He got a black eye as was angry with new supervisor and they got into a fight

paulie getting laid off was stupid. with them working there for all those years, he should've been promoted to manager just like those other managers. with him being there for 31 years, he probably had years more experience than them and was probably doing that job before some of them were adults. it's weird that him being there for all those years wouldn't pay off for him, let alone him not getting a position in management. if it was such a failing business at some point down the road for the managers for some reason, then they should have either laid themselves off, cut back their own salaries, or did their jobs better instead of them penalizing people who worked there and did nothing wrong. it's a human rights violation for managers to lay off others who did nothing wrong who need money to pay bills and afford a living just like those managers have to.

Here we go rocky took place in 75 Paulie didn't start working at the plant in 75 he probably started say like in 68 or 69 six or seven years before we met him in Rocky Paulie quit the plant in 1976 to go to work for Gazzo for a little bit so add another year to his time at the plant 7 or 8 years now. He most likely quit Gazzo around 1980 or so when Rocky really started getting rich and probably went back to the plant for a year or so so now he is at 9 10 years at the plant. Rocky goes broke right after 1985 so thats about the time Paulie would of gone back to work at the plant its 2006 now so do the math 2006-1985 is 21 + 10 years is 31 remember its probably not consecutive years but total time worked!!!!
