It's scenes like this that really bring another level of endearment & poignancy to the character of Rocky Balboa, bringing another element of heartwarming appreciation, admiration & empathy to a person who was already filled with compassion, understanding, patience, forgiveness & humanity. And Stallone played Rocky to perfection as no one else could have, capturing the pathos, regret, hope, sentimentality & various heartfelt reflections of that beloved fictional icon in such an amazingly compelling & captivating fashion. Rocky is immortal, & Stallone gets all the credit. Legendary!

interestingly enough, i think i am in the minority who enjoyed balboa more than Creed. Balboa for me revisited what made the 1st one so emotionally powerful. I could relate to the "demons in the closet" rocky still had, and his performance in the ring was so believable that it made say alright i could believe a 60 year old man can go toe to toe with the heavyweight champ lmao it really did. I guess the main difference was Balboa had me more emotionally invested bc we had 5 movies to fall in love with the character and oh my goodness the training montage in this movie gets you pumped! and it's so hilarious. "To beat this guy... You need speed, you don't have it LMAO. Balboa: More memorable + emotional impactful for me. I will concede that Creed is the better well made movie
@skyhazel62058 жыл бұрын
I thought Balboa was fantastic and a big part of it was because of the legacy it had built up -- we knew these characters, we were seeing them face new challenges, etc.. Creed, though connected to this world, is mostly new characters, and a relatively fresh start, so it has a lot less impact on me than Balboa, and it's why I'll always vote Balboa over Creed. That said, Creed is still a fantastic movie, and tied for my favorite movie of 2015. So it's no slouch in any way.

So far, of all the deleted scenes in this movie that I've seen, none of them should have been cut, in my opinion. Not a single one contained any waste, and really added to the story. Especially the extended version of his conversation with Paulie, behind the restaurant, after the meat packing company let him go. That was such a vital scene. And now I'm seeing this one, and it totally adds a missing element to their relationship. I'd love to see a director's cut with these scenes added back in,

If you remember in V, the scene outside of Mickie's boxing club, where Tommy Gunn convince Rocky to manage him, Rocky invites him to dinner at his house and says Adrian is a really good cook ...but she can be vicious with the garlic..... I think this was somewhat the basis behind starting up the restaurant.
