I like this song, and I love Rocky Horror, but I can see why they took this out. All the other songs are pretty upbeat and fit with the movie while this just kind of...doesn't fit with the movie. It's not the style of the movie.
@dumbunny81283 жыл бұрын
This is my first time seeing this scene, and I feel that this scene would have been valuable to keep in the movie. In delivering a mea culpa here, Brad is taking agency for his unfaithfulness, as opposed to in the original movie, which makes Frank the sole antagonist. Frank N. Furter, as a predatory "trans-sexual" trope, is considered the most problematic aspect of the movie; keeping this scene would have changed this do a degree.

To anyone asking "Why did they take this out?" You haven't been to a showing WITH this song intact. The pace of the movie screams to a halt, and no one in the audience knows callbacks for it.... it's just a bit painful to sit through. :-P
@taylortw1tch2376 жыл бұрын
SecretTimeWarp it all depends on the crowd. The group I'm with did rhps again, but included the song this year. A lot of the people who attended didn't know it, but loved it. It might've been because our Brad put a bit more power into it, but with this, I can see why.
@lillymsf5946 Жыл бұрын
Yea but like Over at the Frankenstein Place it's not TOO long nor is it too boring its more a break from the crazy stuff. Plus i'd have loved to see what the audience participation would've been like for this song

I love this song. I also love the way that he's singing about Janet cheating on him just after he's slept with Frank X-D
@lilliangriffin90138 жыл бұрын
The problem with Brad is, that he thinks that if Janet apologizes to him, if she still loves him, than everything will be alright again.That was his biggest mistake, he was too hopeful for his own good. Because of Brad's hopefulness and black and white outlook, these things led him to nowhere but confusion and fear.
@dumbunny81283 жыл бұрын
Brad isn't singing about Janet cheating on him, he's talking about what he just did. Brad doesn't know that Janet's had any yet. Right before this scene: Brad: "Why you - what have you done with Janet?" Frank: "Nothing. Why do you think I should?"

Every time I listen to that song I have to start crying again because the day I heard it for the first time I lost my great love and most likely will not get it back again ever. So this song reminds me of how deep it hurt but still leaves a tiny little piece of hope in my heart that "someday he will phone my place and it will be OK". If somehow YOU read it, please think it over twice.

@Elric3323913 жыл бұрын
@moombalink That's interesting. I would have interpreted it as an indication that Brad was losing interest in Janet after being with Frank, as in there's more adventures in this world than he thought, and he had more options to explore. An offset to Janet's "Toucha Toucha Touch Me" where she sang "I've tasted blood and I want more!" I guess this film is like any art form: two people can look at it and walk away with different impressions of what they saw.

Personally, I enjoy this song, although I can sort of see why they might've deleted this, it's more like an extra, rather then being important to the plot (though one could use the same argument for one or two of the other tracks?!?) Also, perhaps, the editors felt that this song, or it's sentiment, changed the entire feeling of the movie...?!? Regardless, I think it illustrates Barry Bostwick's singing voice very nicely *grins*
