The latter was a staged bout, yet the former was real. You can see Inoki on his back for most of the fight, throwing kicks at his opponent's legs, with Ali remaining in a standing position, not wanting to go to the ground with Inoki. There is a book about the fight that you might like to read, entitled _Ali Vs. Inoki: The Forgotten Fight That Inspired Mixed Martial Arts and Launched Sports Entertainment_ (2016). It gives you an insight into how the match was organised.

This is one of the most bizarre scenes in Rocky series, and that says a lot. Rocky treats the bout as fake, but he finds out, as does the viewer, that wrestling is for real. So in the reality, Thunderlips nearly kills him. Thunderlips also beats up civilians and even police officers during the event, but faces no consequences. Instead, he smiles in the pictures afterwards and it is all forgotten. That said, when I was 12, this was the best scene ever. It is still close.

Stallone looks great here. He is no where close to 200lbs here. Maybe 165-175 . Hogan was about 280lbs
