Knowing the quality of RMC coasters, the fact that the T-rex track can produce strata coasters is very promising. I can't be the only one who wants to know what a strata coaster could be like if it had more than just a top hat and an air time hill as the whole ride.
@michaelpryor782 жыл бұрын
The issue with that is simply the cost. Building TTD or Kingda Ka today would cost around $37,000,000, and so lengthening the ride to what you're describing would easily be approaching the $50,000,000-$60,000,000 mark. Add in the fact that amusement parks are still recovering from the pandemic and that their attendance won't be great in 2022 with inflation, and it's safe to say that we won't see one anytime soon.

@@ARKAEA33 Comparing Universal's budget with Cedar Fair's or Six Flags's is like comparing a doctor's budget with the average college kid's. For one, the profitability of Universal parks has to blow the other two out of the water (remember when Six Flags went bankrupt in the 2000s?), but more importantly, lets look at who's backing Universal. Universal is parented by NBCUniversal, which is owned by Comcast, which is, you know, the mass media conglomerate ranked 28th among Fortune 500 companies. Endless investors, endless reserve capital, endless money. 200 million is piss in the wind to them. Cedar Fair and Six Flags on the other hand are amusement park companies. Another well made video. One point of contention might be 5:18 "Alan Shilke was employed as an associate at Ride Centerline," when, in fact he is a co-founding partner in the engineering firm. Also skipped over, is the fact that his partner at Rides Centerline, Ned Hansen is also commissioned by RMC for train design work. It has been my understanding that both, through their company, Ride Centerline, are consultants to RMC more so than employees. Sort of in the same way Werner Stengel is a consultant to ...well pretty much every other coaster manufacturer through his company, Ingenieurburo Stengel GmbH. This arrangement allows for them to maintain their working relationship with former employer S&S and has worked out well for RMC as the fabricator of their 4D Free Spin track.

A contact of mine has his own company that maintains woodies, they do a lot of work with RMC and did a lot of the construction work for Untamed. I’m interested to see where RMC go in the future, I’ve often wondered this because not every park will want to convert their wooden coasters and there’s only so many times you can build something like Untamed before they start being like a B&M Invert, like an Intamin launch where people are like “oh it’s another one of them”.

I've only been able to ride one rmc coaster which is twisted colossus at sfmm because that's where I live. Best coaster I have ever ridden and I do hope to get to other parks one day to try out more. I also don't think the market will be oversaturated with rmc coasters. The problem with some of these other coasters that pop up everywhere is most of them just don't live up to the hype, or get run down. The best thing about rmc coasters is that they are very very smooth and no over the shoulder restraints. That's what sets them apart and people want that.
