Very nice. Lots of drone footage? This really makes me appreciate the western US. Beautiful!

If there is a remake/reboot of Under Siege 2, this train would be used. Just saying

It’s too bad the two experimental Amtrak F69PHACs were scrapped. They would have been perfect for this train.

Did this trip on RM from Denver to Moab and it was amazing. You did a beautiful job showcasing how incredible this experience is. Definitely a unique and bucket list item to do if possible. Thanks for bringing back wonderful memories.

This video is a great companion to your previous one on the same area. In your drone shot of the meet with No. 5, the buildings of Cisco are crumbling except for that modern structure along the ROW which is connected to the fiber optic cables. Phil Anschutz originally bought the RG&W not to operate a railroad (although he did do some fun things like re-establishing the Ski Train), he wanted the ROW to run fiber optics. Later on he took control of the Southern Pacific for the same reason.

I enjoyed watching this video of the Rocky Mountaineer running in Utah, Dan! The paint scheme on the engines and the passenger cars looks great. The scenery is beautiful. You were in the right place at the right time to catch the Rocky Mountaineer and the California Zephyr meet. I was not aware that the Rocky Mountaineer ran out of Denver, Colorado toward Moab, Utah. I was under the impression that Rocky Mountaineer ran through the northern Rocky Mountains in Montana.

Thanks a lot Thomas! This was one of the main things I had intended to capture on my trip out there and am happy to have been able to put something 30+ minutes together. Yes very new here for sure and not one many know about yet it seems.

Nice shot from an incredible part of the country. It looks like a very light train and one locomotive ought to manage. Is the second loco there as an ensurance, in case of...?
@TheRailfanDan7 ай бұрын
Probably correct. Just in case something went wrong I think is the reason for at least two locomotives on most trains.

Marvelous video. I learned that the Rocky Mountaineer exists! Great use of the cameras. 31:30 unique perspective effects from the telephoto lens.

With those vista's, they may as well call that train the Rocky Mars-taineer. 😆 Thanks for another good one, Dan.

This is indeed a unique video. I only see this train in the VRF grab bags, but here I can enjoy it better. The paint scheme is great on the locomotives. Gold and dark blue works very well together. I'm sure the passengers loves the trip. The scenery is spectacular and I'm sure the cars are comfortable and well equipped. Looks like this area doesn't see too much rain. Everything is dry and dusty. Awesome footage as always Dan, thanks a lot for the special experience.
