You're so thorough in your explanations! This would be so much easier if I wasn't pigeon-toed, but I'll keep trying!

This is what I'm working on now. I just can't seem to make a smooth transition from forward to backwards and then keep going.
@RoCsWorld7 жыл бұрын
The Delightful Diva this video should definitely assist with that... if not then I will have to put up another tutorial on how to keep going. just let me know
@LGFITNESS17 жыл бұрын
The Delightful Diva Don’t worry! I remember how rough (and how awkward it must’ve looked!) when I first learned how to turn around and go backwards. I learned to skate as an adult...it took a lot of practice but eventually, my muscles “realized” there were wheels under my feet and in time, balancing on it became easier. After a 10 year break off my feet (due major surgeries) and aging, I can definitely tell the difference in my skating skills and balance loss has much to do with it. However, I’m finding that as I keep at it (It’s been about 6 Skating sessions since I began skating again), I’m regaining balance. I’m also finding that movement techniques I learned over 20 years ago are all “coming back” to me. Keep up the good work and don’t give up. It takes a while for our muscles to start relaxing as we’re learning to balance on wheels. Roc seems like a very caring person and he’s definitely a great instructor so I’d take him up on his offer if I were you!!! Best wishes!!!!

Any advice for getting back around? I can finally get from forwards to backwards, but now I'm having a hard time getting from backwards to forwards without fully stopping and doing an awkward little shuffle

Where did you get your wheels or what kind are they i want some
@carislocs7 жыл бұрын
I'm sure you may have other videos planned for this week but somewhere down the line can you do a video on how to spin on the front two wheels and then the back. Also, some formations like how JB skaters do in the center of the circle? I am an intermediate, I've been getting little lessons at the Rink in Chicago but not lately tho. I've been watching your videos and you're COLD.

The second way was how I learnt and it has helped me to be flexible in different styles of going backwards. I find doing the figure 8 backwards can limit a persons progression. Just my thoughts and observations. would be interesting to see what others think!

Sometimes my skates don’t want to keep the relationship...it gets so ugly one wants to file divorce against the other and vice versa...that’s when I find myself in the middle of it and fall. LOL 😂...it doesn’t happen very often (not to brag!) but I keep thinking “you guys can fight as much as you want but divorce is never optional...” 😂 Keep the relationship SKATES!!! 😂
