Are you a fan of the microwave guides? I'm trying to decide if I'm going to use them on a 7 foot tuna popping rod.

For my personal rods I only use microwave for spinning. I also try to steer my client towards them because of the superior performance.

How well do you like the northfork blanks compared to the other top blanks, like st croix, mhx ect?

I build primarily on 4 blank manufacturers. NFC, RodGeeks (an SC partner company), Rainshadow, and MHx. The choice of blank is largely determined by the clients budget. For high performance low bling rods it is hard to beat NFC X-ray blanks even at full retail price. With the sales they have had in the last 2 years, they are the best bang for your buck. If I want a custom painted higher end blank then it's RG. MH has good blanks but they are not high end in sensitivity and crispness of action, IMO. I buy a lot of New old Stock Rainshadows from a local dealer. If you want a workhorse MH-F then the RX-6 is my go to. I have several person ones in my boat.
