Can't thank you enough for posting this! Since seeing this and being introduced to Nicholas' content, it has transformed the way I perceive the elements of a mix. Which has lead me to get better at mastering, and become a much better listener.

Everytime I watch these videos as a budget engineer and I see them break out the analog gear I’m like yep. Can’t replicate this unless I got 10,000

Nick does ITB masters as well. In fact a lot of the top mastering engineers are in the box now. Don’t let that discourage you from learning

The mix was already incredible, therefore some simple different limiters were used and soft eq Settings basically… But sometimes you get bad mixes and then fixing the problems are so difficult especially when you don’t get stems..

Yea this is true one that is good about Nicolas is he will actually tell the mixer if it is subpar and work to fix the bad elements of the mix before the mastering stage

One problem with how he views Fabfilter ProL2's Attack and Release dials, they don't work as you would expect them to work which is like a traditional compressor, so setting it by tempo calculations won't have the expected results, here are some links that better explain it. kzbin.info/www/bejne/bYGodKKha7Frp8U kzbin.info/www/bejne/gWfKeoiFa9aSaac

Are there videos of you on YT on how to set the right attack etc. in relation to the BPM?
You would be a super effective teacher (at least for me) how much would you charge me just to come sit in on a few sessions with a guarantee that I won’t say a word…🤐 just a 🪰on the wall, won’t even know im there 🙏…🤣🤣thanks man!
