When you adjusted your mic settings in Connect, the mic sounded dry, which is what mine sounds like, but when you hit record, suddenly your mic sounded really good, as of it had an eq placed on it. Can you explain that shift? The transition is at 2:17.

Unbelievable!! It's crazy to me that rode's USB Microphones can sound just as good as many XLR microphones. Do you know if this microphone will work with the Unify software the same as xcm50 or xdm100? And what is your opinion of the NT-USB+ compared to the xcm50? I love that! For the fact that this is a USB and can sound like this… for sure very impressive. It will work with røde X but rode x product like the XCM50 have something internal that unlock the program for free when you plug on windows… This one is more “free” and easy for regular audio for all types of calls, musicians and everything in between but you don’t have the access to unify. So I would say not for gamers who like to do streaming and need UNIFY… But they sounds very good!

@@agambhasin yes any mic is comparable with Unify, as long as you pay for the software separately. but if you have RODE X MIC you get UNIFY for free!

I have the original, and this mic is sick! I do wish they would of provided either two pop screens with the rode logo going the other way for folks that like to hand it upside down on a boom arm, or have the RODE logo going vertical maybe?

YOU want a mic, you want a mic with DSP, you want the best price ... this is it. Make sure when you do your comparisons, you are comparing something with an actual DSP onboard and not something using "software" that ends up running on your host computer that taxes your CPU. Systems with on board DSP power of their own are superior. This is a MEGA bargain in that category.

I am not sure if they do any treatment but I literally just plug and play to test straight out of the box and rode central as you can see, I am not sure if they used this mic for the promotional video, they can use a shotgun or Lavalier 👍🏽 thanks for the comment!

Your comment about the perfect positioning is subjective. The further your mouth is from the mic gives the lower frequencies in your voice time to form its wave lenght. With the proper gain structure and angle of the mic, you may get more ideal tone.
