Having it recording 14 tracks just allows separate tracks if you want to mix or change a picticular track. When you go to save you can just save the tracks you choose to save. The choice is yours of course.

Thanks for the video. I got mine setup now so it records the way it should BUT i think I need to get another DAW as I cant use the Rode ASIO driver that just came out without building Audacity by myself and the guide to do so seems to be a pain. But ASIO would cut out some of those latency issues as that is why all of us wished for ASIO from Rode.
@CoffeeTalkandTechJohnRyan3 жыл бұрын
Exactly I'm using the beta firmware too with asio drivers. First thing I did was to see if Audacity would let me use them. It was a no go but that can change.
@e30Birdy3 жыл бұрын
@@CoffeeTalkandTechJohnRyan its not going to change you have to build it yourself to use ASIO and isn't allowed to be pushed out anywhere built with asio. Look at their guide, tell you how to go about doing it. I am swapping to reaper. Have asio and midi right from the start. 60 bucks for the software isn't bad at all for what it does. Yes it's not the best for music production and one can go toward say cubase elements but for say podcasts I think there is nothing better for the price. Time to go pull an espresso now for myself, just got a package of beans from my favorite roaster.

Here's a question you may not get very often, what if you are using a platform like riverside or zoom for your shows? I'm guessing that riverside automatically just uses whatever audio but you can still use audacity at the same time.
@CoffeeTalkandTechJohnRyan2 жыл бұрын
OK so the thing about web based streaming is when you change the RCP to muilttrack do you still have your audio choice for riverside?? If so then just hit record on the RCP and record to sd card or yes hit record in Audacity. I now have the RCP2 so not sure if it's the same.
@TheRopenNetwork2 жыл бұрын
@@CoffeeTalkandTechJohnRyan I greatly appreciate your response most of the time my comments just go into cyberspace. I did a test I decided to use riverside and record on the roadcaster pro on a micro SD card, sure enough both programs recorded at the same time, it's just that the sound is much better using the roadcaster pro. That being said I have not used audacity and the USB chord with Riverside just yet, but I plan on trying it out too. Here's a big question for you, the reason I want to do multi track is that way I can control the audio of the person who's joining in on the conversation. If you're recording directly into an SD card without the multi track then you can't control the other person's volume if it's too loud. When I recorded the multitrack directly into the SD card I wound up with 14 tracks which is to be expected, but 3 out of 4 of these tracks had everyone's voices attached to them. I was hoping that the multitrack system would break up everybody's voices. Is there a way around this?
@CoffeeTalkandTechJohnRyan2 жыл бұрын
So I'm guessing these people aren't in the same room...that would be why you have voices not separated. I think being the original rcp doesn't have routing and you are using a web based service leaves you kinda hand cuffed. Also since they aren't in the same room on 1 of 4 mic outputs. If I can find something I'll let you know...but I think your limited where your at right now.
@TheRopenNetwork2 жыл бұрын
@@CoffeeTalkandTechJohnRyan I conducted a test with me and another fellow listener host. We were in the studio together but we did not use any platform such as riverside. It was a direct recording into the micro SD.
