I am new to the audio production, and I saw all the raving about the rode caster pro II. so I bought it and watch a lot of the videos, but I am having so much problems understanding. For example, the smart pads, where do you get the sounds like the horn or the music bed etc. I did not see them in the rode central, the companion apps. Also, the monitor speakers. I got the coaxial cord going into the monitor output, but then how do I hook it to the speakers where there are wires. So much confusing

Hello, how do I connect 4 headphones to this unit? I noticed the back of the “Rode pod Mic usb”has a headphone jack, do I connect the four headphones directly to the road caster pro 2 with super long cables or do I connect them to the microphones? I have them connected via XLR cables currently.
@best10392 жыл бұрын
you are one small step away to conquer radio broadcasters, we need a muted, when mic1 is on air, monitor output AND a L/R line output [workaround: out muted monitor output when mic1 is on air and get L/R output via usb2] and a trigger for an ''on air'' lamp [ maybe pads on midi mode can do this?]

I never thought I'd say something like this but Rode aren't charging enough for the RPC2. When it comes to the Road Procaster ii the preamps alone are worth the asking price. Today, I actually switched out our Apollo twin and used the RPC to record directly into Reaper for a bunch of VO's and although I never used any onboard processing the results we're flawless. But perhaps biggest feature of the unit (other than it's price) is I can use it to trigger MIDI actions! Only one feature would make the RPC even better and that would be the ability to remote control it from my sound booth & but hey, that's just being picky!

Is there a way to increase the volume of the sound pads? Compared to all my other audio outputs it is very low and I've to pause/mute the other sources to hear a sound. I would be nice if there would be an option where you can customize the volume output for the sound pads. For now I've a work around.

They only need relatively light touches, however when setting up the SMART pads you can set them to activate on press and 'hold' as well if you're worried about having clumsy fingers.

Hey Brian, there isn't a length limit to the SMART pad sound pads (except for internal storage) and you can set the pads to activate 'when held' or 'latching' (tap on and tap off) - whichever better suits your workflow.

Something that made me very excited about the RCP2 was being able to utilize it with 2 devices simultaneously. So my question is: How would that be like in reality? Is there any way the guests from device 1 just hear the host's voice and not that of device 2 guests as in a remote simultaneous translation room?
@PodcastMeister2 жыл бұрын
You can probably make a workaround for that, like muting the device 2 channel, but it has some caveats: 1. When device 2 is muted, not even the host will hear it - so you’ll have to program one of the smart pads to back channel the host on mic 1 with device 2 (that way the host still can talk to device 2 guests and vice versa if I understand this feature correctly), but you need to program the pad in a way so that you don’t have to keep it pressed to retain this back channel connection. 2. You will not have every guest on one device on separate tracks, but everyone’s voice in a room is on that single track - but I guess for translation it is not that big of a problem. The ideal solution for your situation would be the ability to create submixes and I/O routing, but that does not yet seem to be possible in the current firmware. I assume Røde is already working on it though as it is quite an important feature for both streamers, musicians and podcasters.

I just got the RCPII and have it setup to stream PC or XBOX. My last question if anyone can answer is how I stop the smart pads voice changer from affecting my other inputs. My Mic is input 1 and it works. But Input 2 (music) is getting affected from the smart pad activation as well. Thanks

@rodemic2 жыл бұрын
Hey there, the fader control will adjust the volume of your SMART pads, if you are wanting the flexibility of adjusting your fader positions in post production, we'd recommend recording in Multitrack pre-fader. You can check/update this in your settings at: settings > outputs > multitrack. If you have a particularly loud musicbed, it may serve well to edit it in a DAW to bring the volume down before bringing it onto the SMART pads.

This time, I played around with the different effects just listening to what they do. And after 3-5 minutes, they all stopped working again.
