Rodgers beach + Baby beach WALK in Aruba

Which is your favorite one?
Let's go take a long and relaxing walk along the Rodgers Beach and afterwards also the popular Baby Beach. I start at the Community Church monument and walk down to the beaches. It was a mostly cloudy yet beautiful day.

Love Baby Beach, and the drive there through San Nicolas is pretty cool and different vibe than other areas of the island.

I am a Canadian and was born in a small hospital now gone, not far from baby beach, my father returned to worked at the Lago refinery in the early 70's , thats when I was last there, nice to see the video and still recognize the places I used to scuba dive.I also remember fishing on bachelor beach which is just a little farther around the Island from baby beach, thanks again....

Wow, nice story! I was asking my father the other day about the location of that Hospital and believe to now know where it was. I even saw several photos (online). The area will probably never be the way I remember it but there is certainly a potential for redevelopment. Been meaning to do a walk at Bachelor Beach too, so be pending!

@@LetsgowithHyro Thankyou for the reply; in another video, a drone video, I noticed our house we lived at is still there just up the road in front of Roger beach, I remember the iguanas taking sun on our cement border wall around the yard. I used to see these small owls in the evening which was nice also...

I lived in the colony for many years with my parents. We left Aruba in 1977. When I see these video's of makes me cry, by seeing how the Colony has become a creepy place. The Beauty is all gone.

Yes, unfortunately, that's how it mostly is today. I can still barely remember how it looked like in the mid to early '80s. The new generation will never experience it :-(

That was a wonderful walk. I was born in the Lago hospital in 1939.. Remember these beaches so well. Loved to hear the wind and the water. You did a great job Hyro. Felt like I was back again.

Finally!!! My favorite beach on the island of Aruba, Rodger’s Beach!!! Even with the slight overcast the beach looks amazing. Prolly made the walk easier as well, that heat is brutal. But when the skies are clear, the sand is white and the water looks spectacular there. It’s such a relaxing place. @5:50 The rooftop on the constructed building is where I took a panoramic video of the area. Baby Beach gets the a lot of the praise but Rodger’s Beach is a gem. A lot of people get turned off by the refinery towards the west but it’s part of the history of Aruba. Kudos to another great video, I haven’t seen any other Aruba video showcasing both these beaches the way you have. 🤙🏻

I know it's been longggg overdue :-) but I figured might as well do a walk till Baby Beach too. I must also agree, Rodgers beach is almost like a hidden gem with much less people (except maybe on Sundays)compared to Baby B. I expressly turned toward that building assuming it was the one you mentioned. Nice to know you noticed it! Too bad on my planned walk it got a bit cloudy but even with that I got a bit sun burned. I'm sure it won't be my last time in this beautiful area. Thanks again for watching!

@@LetsgowithHyro I just bet the walk was not as relaxing over the stones. I kept calling out to you, "oh, be careful!" 😄🙄Of course you could not hear me. Anyhoo-- a portion of the beach (the part w/ the white rocks & grass) reminded me of the northern part of Barbados. Thanks for the peaceful, pleasant vistas. We await more videos!

Is Roger's Beach good for snorkeling? Are there many fish to see?

There are some but I wouldn't say the best by any means. Baby beach is better and the surrounding waters depending on your level.

Glad you liked it Brandy! I have personally never been inside this one but I'm going to assume here that they are not "schoorsteen" (chimney) but rather column/pillar as per the design of this church.

Yes, plenty of parking space. I’d say a direct walk is 10 minutes or less.
