This song started tugging on my heart about a year ago. The incredible and inspiring Anne Murray won a Grammy for best country song in 1983. It’s beyond amazing how relevant it was back then and today. I decided to record it when the pandemic hit in early Spring of 2020 and kept hitting stumbling blocks. My wife, Rose, refused to let me give up on it, saying people really need to hear it. I pray it will lift up the heavy hearts this last year has affected and remind us that this country and this world has been through hell before and by the grace of God, we will get through ALL of this now... together... stronger. #ALittleGoodNews

I was just a young teenage girl when Anne Murray's version of this song was on the charts in 1983 - just 15 years old. I'm 53 now. It's absolutely amazing how relevant this song is in this day and age. We are living in some crazy times right now, and this song is one that people really need to hear right now. It has a really powerful message. Thank you Rodney Atkins, for covering this great song.

Hello Mr. Atkins, Ahh, music. Says what the heart feels and does it when words won't come. I'm a mom of two grown boys tht are good men now. I won't credit you for all but times when I HAD to..get thru to them, it was likely at night around a fire pit out back. Oh they bucked n griped but they did it. I didn't talk, I turned on the stereo speakers loud, and us three, we listened. To your music, a select few I picked out. When the songs were over, I got up, gave them both a kiss on the head, and made my way, away from them. Space is important. Thru the years they come and visit, do some fishing, and we end up at the fire pit. Now its those two who turn the speakers on. Different music, but before I go in, they play those exact songs of yours. In a way that belongs to you amd my boys. Mr. Atkins, I believe u did something in getting them to think twice about a lot of things. The times I had to "use" you, you were my best bet. Times I was too tired to talk but I would never let them get away with anything. Back then, when they came in, they wld open my bedroom door and say, Thanks Ma. Praise God first, and for His hand working thru you.

I have been so uplifted by this song in the last 6 days. Its like the Lord sent it my way as an encouragement in these difficult times. The guys at my warehouse asked me to play some country on a Bluetooth speaker so I went for it with " Little good news ". I also blast it loud in my Jeep while at a gas station. Rodney, you are a real good ol' boy. I learn from your example of humility. I'm so glad you know Jesus as your Lord and Savior. My son was 4 when first heard "Watching you" in 2006. I was at work on a tractor. By the end of the second verse I was crying... Keep making your music brother! Can't wait for a live concert whenever you have one in Pennsylvania.

Dear Rodney Atkins, Thank you very much for your great music and the incredibly true lyrics in your songs. I think it was 10 or 11 years ago that I came across a song of yours on youtube by chance. It was "These are my people". Since then I've been waiting eagerly for new songs from you. I'll be 40 next month and live in Germany. Unfortunately you are very unknown here. And yet only your songs play in my car. Why? Not only because the songs sound good, but mainly because a lot of your lyrics reflect my own past. Especially the songs "young man", "he's mine" and "Angels hands". My life has never been easy and a constant struggle. But I stayed on the right track. Despite all the losses, strokes of fate and traumatic experiences, I am here today and give everything for my family and friends. Your music is not a miracle cure, but your songs have supported and strengthened me a little over the years. For that I just want to say thank you very much! Vielen Dank! Tack så mycket! Lord please help the lost souls that seriously found it necessary to dislike this song! For me I love it, it's one of the best songs ive heard so far this year... It's so hard to keep faith alive when there are people who don't want to hear the truth and enjoy watching people's misery. While they sit back with fulfilment as our beautiful country is under a one world government and in the process of loosing everything it stands for. The ignorance and arrogance of the ones causing it will one day realize they ruined it for everyone including themselves. because they will never get what their promised.
