Rodney was rapid fire funny. He wrote just about all his own material. Brilliant comedian. No one today in the comedy field comes close.

Rodeny was arguably the best pure comic ever. Zero self-indulgence on panel. Pure discipline to remain in command of the material at all times. Kills on his set, kills on panel, cut to commercial - done. Who else could do that?
@pittiedaddy-j8s5 ай бұрын
He just destroys the sit down... That's the panel? Utterly in control, killing everyone, Carson included, who I'm sure is in awe of what he's doing. That ef Hutton recover was,.. did he plan that? Lay a half egg to deploy that. Just brilliant.

For whatever reasons, there are not many famous folks with the last name "Roy." The most famous Roys now are the fictional family of "Succession," supposedly doubling for the Murdochs. What does Mr. Dangerfield have to do with this? His real name is Jack Roy, legally changed from Jacob Rodney Cohen when he was 19. So, here's to the King of self-deprecation, the funniest Roy to share my last name, even though it's been nearly 20 years since his passing.
