Rodney was my neighbor. His real top ten: 10. Hitting on my widowed mother in the elevator (he wanted her BAD like most of NYC) 9. Walking around the neighborhood in his ROBE 8. Having his tour bus show up at 3am and park on the street outside 7. Ignoring everyone, who respected his privacy and ignored him back 6. Get annoyed with me when I'd quote his films or commercials 5. Joking around the doormen he knew since the building opened in 1964 when he rented it, long before his fame 4. Dote on his daughter, as he was widowed 3. Performing at catch a rising star (in his Robe, as Chris Rock noted) 2. Giving young comedians like Sam Kinison a break 1. Spending evenings and weekends at his comedy club, Dangerfield's (60th and First).
