JUST WATCHED THE DVD OF HIS DISCOVERY, AND AM NOW LISTENING TO HIS MUSIC ON YOU TUBE. AND HE TAKES ME BACK TO THE 60`S. HOW DID WE MISS THIS GUY AS TALENTED AS HE IS . GOD BLESS RODRIGUEZ! GEORGE O.
@Loshia200212 жыл бұрын
Wow. Wow, wow WOW. To say this guy is amazing is the understatement of the CENTURY. His stuff is every bit as good as the big guns of the 70s and I can't understand for the life of me why he didn't get any promotion from his label...if the record execs had done their jobs like they were supposed to we wouldn't even be having this conversation and Rodriguez would be topping the charts. Indeed he was robbed financially spiritually and literally....SHAME ON THEM!!!

First heard him when I watched the doc, last night! One of his daughter fell in love with a man in SA. My daughter fell in love with a man from SA who was visiting the states for the first time! Now he and Emily have a two year old son and live in NYC! Amazing. Beautiful man...living life to the fullest!!

Talent like this is very few and far between these days. Listened to him all through high school and what an experience to rediscover this man. Stil can't believe that he had to go through all of this. Just hope he is as happy as can be now, and that he gets what's owed to him. Can't stop listening to his cd. Wish I could give him a hug. Lots of Love out of Bloemfontein, South Africa

Man This man was HUGE here in South Africa in the 1970's and 80's. Even when the American's wanted nothing to do with him. WE LOVED HIM!!! WE KEPT HIM ALIVE!!! Here in South Africa he IS a GOD!!

Sexiest 70 years old I have ever known. Move over, Bob Dylan. What a true human being who is well educated, has a brilliant mind and a gift for music. In spite of the fact he was robbed of fame and fortune by the ignorance of American public and the greed of certain record company executive, he carried on his life with strong spirit. I consider myself so blessed to have finally been exposed to his lyric and melody.

You know what pisses me off....everything about this guy is absolutely incredible, his songs his story, his unbelievable humility and over whelming dignity, yet some people still feel the need to post dislikes on his videos! Just shut up and move on!

Most people would have lived a bitter existence had they been robbed for all those years. Yet, he went on and lived a happy life with nothing but his family and back breaking labor. But true to the spirit of his music which is rightious with humility, he has no regrets and no complaints. It reminds us that fame and fortune is not the only thing in this world that matters.

I Live in Australia and EVERYBODY I hung out with had " Cold Fact " his awesome album. We got high listening to Roriguez every day and when I was in New Mexico in 1983 I had the privilige of meeting his sister in law and we talked to her about how popular he was in Oz....she rang him and told him and...he couldn't believe he was so popular in Australia.....I still listen to him today...Love his music....Thanks for posting.

We had a dream in the 60’s, we wanted to change the world in a more just place for everybody…create a better society, then drugs start sipping into our minds…our dreams got distorted and then we became a caricature of marketing, Sixto, (named because he was child #6) Rodriguez survived untouched, that’s why he still relevant today as he was in the 60’s and 70’s…Young societies, less affected by drugs, made him and he still is a LEGEND…still our original voice….!!

And I spend 10 years in RSA from 98 and never heard one of his songs on the radio even with his 30 sold out concerts in RSA. One wonders why he is not moving there. I agree each his own choices but I would never miss the desolate Detroit in the sunshine of RSA and I live in Canada. Discovering his movie is a highlight. I hope there will be a DVD for sale with a concert of this quality or better soon. PLEASE thank you!

a radio dj in Australia named holga brockman?heard and liked him in the early 70's and started playing him and was really the one who made him known in Australia. In South Africa he struck a chord with army conscripts and developed a strong following there thru that. was a school janitor for years unaware of the success of his Cold Fact album in these countries, being strangely ignored in the US, and seemingly ripped off by his record company he apparently received nothing from record sales.
