Yeah was absolute hellfire to watch! Quite sad to see the remaining 317s go though

@@DanielGNTrains yeah especially as they were the ones that many were riding just a week or so earlier - I assume they’ve gone to the sidings at Ely awaiting their turn to be scrapped?

@@AnthonyFurnival Yeah feels quite strange knowing we were in those exact same units a week ago and yeah they'll be going to Ely Papworth to await their doom. I'm assuming they'll first finish with the 455s so they've maybe still got about a month or so, maybe less.

@@DanielGNTrains it’s a great shame. Personally I feel they should have preserved 315/317/321/322 units for the Stratford - Meridian Water route and ran it as a sort of heritage mainline route

@@AnthonyFurnival Yeah but I don't think that's really GA's priorities, they only really care about getting new stock and getting as much seats as they can in them for more profit. That's why the 720s are extremely basic and have really narrow legroom

On their farewell day, I rode in both units from London Liverpool Street to Enfield Lock and back, my first and last time on a 317

Same here, did about 5/6 trips from Liv St. to Hertford and back. Both units sounded absolutely amazing, was quite sad seeing it pull away for the last time

They really don't have to do this to the 317s.
@DanielGNTrains2 жыл бұрын
True, atleast they had a good 40 year run unlike the 365s which only ran for about 20+ years before they got scrapped. Wish one 317 would get preserved though but I don't think that'll happen.
@waleedarif67402 жыл бұрын
@@DanielGNTrains I could tell that the 317s still did have a few years of life left in them. All units had less then a 40 year run because they were introduced in 1983. I don't quite see why they could not go on for at least another 7 or 8 years.

@@waleedarif6740 Yeah I guess, you could tell GA really wanted to get rid of them because all the 7-8 got withdrawn within like a month. Since they now have a whole spare fleet of 720s that gives them an excuse to fully get rid of them. Wish they would’ve ran a bit more :(
