Thank you, sir! In your next build using this board, please clarify the bit about lane sharing: GPU & Memory M5.2 slot? I am a MAC user, and I am in the process of building my first enthusiast PC for Cinema 4D. Could you say that if we use the top M5.2 slot for memory, the 16-lane GPU slot will only use 8 lanes instead of 16? Many thanks for considering my request.

How is this compared to the x870-e? Like, how do you know if you need a hero or Maximus which are 500+
@RobloxianX4 ай бұрын
I suggest comparing this and the AsRock X870 Pro RS, since the Crosshair X870E Hero is the most expensive at $699, and the AsRock X870 Pro RS is the cheapest at just $199. It would be interesting comparing polar opposites to see if getting a more expensive motherboard is actually worth it.

These boards are CRIMINALLY overpriced, I remember my ROG Maximus 8 formula was $400 back in 2015 and it was literally the most feature rich non-HEDT board on the market! Hell it even had a built in EK water block for VRM’s; Even to this day no board in the last 3 cpu generations under $800 can match it’s feature list if you factor out the chipset differences and accounting for inflation that mb would still be a hell of a deal at $530!

When you look at the ASUS boards, after X570 the crosshair shifted up to the Intel variant "maximus" pricing. Going by features/quality though, they shifted up the STRIX AMD boards to where Crosshair used to be. IF you compare the X670/X870 Strix with the X570 and prior crosshairs they're pretty much the same. I have always bought Crosshairs going back to the firat one, but my first X670 boad was a Strix. I sold that computer to build a new one, this time an all white theme. Have a X670 Aorus Pro X, no need to wait for X870 as I don't care for USB4 on desktop, my laptop already has it. Also Wifi 7 doesn't work on Windows 10 (lol, they don't provide drivers for it).
