ROG Tessen Controller Review: The Best Fit for ANY Phone!

I have had this controller day one of release for little over 2 weeks or so. I'm very impressed with it myself. Ergonomics, features, the Armory Crate software config options, etc. Really like how easy it is to put your phone into it. Since all my phones have cases, have not had to remove them for the USB-C port to reach. Also, my phones with cases on, I did have to swap the square rubber pad in the middle hinge bit for the thinner one, which contacts the phones just right.

This is by far the most elaborated external smartphone gamepad controller I've ever seen so far. There's so many brackets to choose in the box.

Until I see it working with an iPhone in an Otterbox defender, I’m not sold on the “any phone case” claim.

After being spoiled by the Gamesir G8 Galileo, I can't go back to smaller and skinnier controllers. My one complaint with the G8 is that my Xiaomi 14 Ultra doesn't work with it due to the massive camera hump.

I bought the gamesir x4a for my ROG phone 8 but not compatible with a case. I am also unable to my headphones. Using it with a case is out of the question. Recently bought the ROG Tessen and i am so happy. I can even use with a phone case and the best bit is, I can use my headphones.

One that caught me off guard is... a cheap AliExpress controller: the BSP-D8. You'd be tempted to put it in Xbox mode because that's usually the way to go... but something about their Xbox mode is just plain bad. Now if you put it in generic controller mode... holy shit it shines. Great buttons, great triggers, great analogs... and it's a deeeep boy. Most of my phones fit with a case on.

In Not That Type of guy but i love watching you Talk about that Stuff. Specially phones and their cameras. If it wasnt you i would have bought the next best phone and would have been unsatisfied cuz i dont underdtand cameras and what i could do with my current phone. So Yes big up to you 🫶🏼
